Found in a bag of cough drops

A few years ago, I bought a bag of cough drops. When I opened it, this cute little brooch fell out. I contacted the company, but never heard back.

Interesting. It looks like a pin. Maybe a worker was wearing it and it dropped into the bag he/she was filling?

It is a small brooch, about an inch long. Not broken, either.

Probably fakes. I had what I swore was a real diamond ring, the stones glinted marvelously, but a local jeweler just glanced at it and even without using a loupe said they were fake.

In this case, whatever was good luck for me was bad luck for someone else. I feel badly for (I assume a her). I did make an effort to contact the company, but they probably have hundreds of workers and high turnover added to the fact they aren't going to make an effort to find a needle in a haystack.

I hope this wasn't a sentimental item for the person. At first I thought it might be some kind of contest, but I hadn't heard of one and that would be a strange item to include in a bag - someone might take it for a drop and put it in their mouth.

Just a nice addition to my costume jewelry collection.

Thank you. I think the kitschy costume jewelry is going out of fashion. It doesn't sell well at my garage sale, but then, nothing does.

I think it's a fantasy piece since there is no clef, key signature and the wrong number of lines in the staff. Just meant to be a suggestion of music, really.

You post a lot of brooches. Maybe you should create a website or some type of catalog and try to sell them that way.

Right now, there are more pressing items I want to sell. I'm keeping the jewelry for now. I did make a Web page for things I am selling. No nibbles, though.
