My wife and I have some arthritis in our hands and fingers. For those pull tab cans of soup, etc., this is a handy little helper. Just hook it up and roll the lid right off.

I first lift the tab a little with a kitchen knife and then stick a rod into the hole and press down using the other side of the can as a fulcrum.

I got this pair of incredible helpers about a year ago from Amazon, and have used them a zillion times. They open bottles with impossibly tight lids, by just slipping the tool (the one on the right) over the lid and giving it a twist; the two hooks on top pull tabs on cans , and the tool on the left is an opener for larger jar lids. Both tools together cost about $7.95!
