Freebies at the senior center

I like the glass bottle/vase.
I wonder about its history, and where and when, it was made.

I once had a cookie jar made of the same light pink glass as the bottle. However, I couldn't date it. It may be Depression Glass.

The pink glass bottle says "Made in Italy" on the bottom. It may have been a wine bottle. The Westie figurine is probably a dollar store item I surmise from the bottom tag. The bull terrier is from the late 1980s.

That is fascinating about the pink glass bottle, and it is nice to see the photos, especially of that one. :)

I went to a church autumn bazaar this morning and picked up these items (glass angel ornament, ceramic cross ornament and a throw pillow made of carpetbag material), but I paid a $1 for all - it was freewill pricing - you pay what you feel comfortable giving.

The church bazaar was kind of bare-bones this year. I've been going to that church's autumn bazaar for years. They used to have a book room sale and "grandma's attic" (a.k.a. white elephant) corner and a food sale. Now it just a table of holiday decorations to buy outright and tables of gift packages to buy chances on to be raffled later in the day. The woman I spoke with there said this might be the last year they have the bazaar.

It's fun for me to see the items, @debodun (y)

It's like going out for an outing, that I am unable to go to! :)

To me, I would choose that pottery bowl from the first group, and the china bowl is also nice, and both look useful, to me also.

From the next group, I like best the 2 glass pieces. :giggle:

As @Keesha mentioned, I too am needing to get rid of things, more than collect
So its safe for me to do my collecting on this thread, from things Deb posts for me to look over ,
and i am certain i have things you could take there to give, as well!
My virtual outing! :giggle:

Believe me, there is still plenty of things left on the give-away tables. It's not like I am hogging everything and they are things left after probably dozens of others have had a crack at it. I feel sorry for the people that donated and their items are still there after several weeks. Sets of dishes and stemware - you can't give away around here. While it's true that I am trying to sell things, I also have my own vast collections of items. If I get tired of looking what I've taken, I can bring it back or put it out for sale, too. Also I take things that I feel I can use - food serving dishes for home use or to bring to a coffee fellowship meal or pot luck supper. I have also brought items and put them on the table, but sadly, they aren't being grabbed up very quickly. It seems everyone is in a donating phase and not an acquiring one around here.

Yes, people definitely feel badly when they donate things, and nobody selects those.

I have done that many times in the past, too.

It's much nicer to have someone like them and take them, and enjoy them, even if they enjoy them for a while, and then donate them back.
It makes it an interesting thing to do, for everyone. I like the idea. It's fine to take some; thats what is intended and hoped for. It makes it fun for everyone.

I have yet to visit my Senior Center yet as no car now. It's not easy to get to in this town but I guess I could take a cab.

Nice items BTW!!! ;) (y)ā£
