I was driving home in the early hours of this morning and a radio presenter pointed out that today is National Blame Someone Else Day.

In a world that’s increasingly moving towards the ultimate Blame Culture, what better way to 'celebrate' than by shifting the blame and saying, “I think the current world situation is all your fault!”?

Today is the day when we can stop taking responsibility for our own actions. Although to be honest, it seems like some individuals do this every day. I can’t help but wonder if there are some things we should never put the blame on.

I suddenly feel a song coming on.

I have blamed Canadians for years. It works very well. For example, if I am in another country and use their flag as a napkin while I am eating, or paint a mustache on the portrait of their founder in the national museum here’s what I do. I just say “I’m sorry. I’m Canadian” thus avoiding being the center of an international incident. By the time they figure out I’m not a Canadian, I’m gone.
