Fried chicken, not good for you but good for you

I stopped frying foods decades ago. Except for a couple of trips a year to KFC or a popular chicken joint in town, I stopped eating fried food. When I did have fried chicken I removed the skin. But my husband and I discovered that Acme supermarket in Brigantine, N.J. (where we grocery shopped while at our timeshare in Atlantic City) had the best fried chicken! I'd eat the skin and even brought some back home. šŸ˜›

Not a KFC fan, I think its the bottom of the barrel fried chicken... Good homemade is so much better.

Only fast fast food fried chicken I eat is Popeye's.
Sorry, no Popeye's here in UK, in Scotland or my own corner in the West Coast.

However, on our working trips in the USofA, Church's Chicken was the best to replace KFC.

At home, I get my own fresh whole chicken, cut it up in 8 pieces and I use my own blend of 11 herbs and spices plus a buttermilk (2 tbsps of lemon juice in homogenised milk) marinade plus golden crumbs or polenta to which I add a dried packet of sour cream.

I make my own coleslaw and I get a sour dough bread and add garlic butter plus corn cobettes and of course, have honey to eat the chicken with lol!

Here's a website I've found on AllRecipes regarding the mix of KFC spice mix. Hoping you'll find it useful and you can change a few if you're allergic!

Love fried chicken too, but only made it a few times. I don't like frying so hot like that. KFC is nothing like it was 15 years ago or so. Back then, it was delicious.

Popeye's is ok, but Krispy Krunchy Chicken is better (KKC). It's been a year since I've eaten any.

Looked it up and Popeyes is about to open in Glasgow, several further south. You should go!

OMG thanks for that good bit of news@Alligatorob. I've bookmarked it under FOOD RECIPES & Takeaways. But just saying, as I've tried this one, we just didn't like it "Taco Bell" nuh huhšŸ™ƒ

However, videos in YouTube about Popeye's have been bookmarked and we're very promising. Cheers!

With advancements in better quality chickens with less unwanted fats plus chance of experiments with much better oils since the 90s, if you're careful where you get your bucket or if you get your own ingredients to make it.... You can enjoy it with minimal worries! Why the not, hey?

Thank you so much for taking about this today! Saturday after Archery workout, will grab a bucket before heading home. Cheers!
I can remember when we were children baked chicken was only cooked for Christmas. I haven't had KFC for over 20 years.

We seldom have fried chicken, but usually it would be either Bojangles or KFC if we do. If we are in the area for some reason, then we would pick up chicken to take home and eat.
Our KFC has an online order special on Tuesdays, for the 8-piece chicken for $10, which is about half price. Since today is Tuesday, and it was a nice day to drive somewhere, we ordered the special.
It was ready by the time we drove there, so this is about as easy as a pickup order gets, and we enjoyed it. Marco Poodle always helps me eat my chicken , or whatever else we are having for dinner.
