President Calvin Coolidge was known to say few words.

One night at a dinner party at The White House, two attendees had a bet. One bet the other that he could get President Coolidge to say three words to him.

The man tried. And he tried. And he tried again.

President Coolidge would not say a single word.

Finally, he want up to President Coolidge and told him that he had a bet that he could get the President to say three words.

President Coolidge looked him in the eye and said "You lose."

Lady Astor and Winston Churchill HATED each other's guts.

One time, they were seated next to each other at a dinner party.

Lady Astor turned to Churchill and said, "Sir, if you were my husband, I would put poison in your tea."

Not missing a beat, Churchill turned to her and said, "Ma'am...if you were my wife....I'd drink it!"
