A few years back, we drove north from Florida for a trip to Nashville. All of those wonderful stories were had been told about the jazz clubs, the sites to see, the lovely people.....
To get into the city, you have to use the ring-road. Ha!
It is about twelve lanes wide, with signs every half-mile pointing to EVERYWHERE - and four million people all trying to get somewhere within the next thirty seconds.
It is madness!!!!
If you do manage to join a lane signposted to wherever you want to go, in half-a-mile, your line is now signposted to somewhere completely different.
After a very nervous and tense half-an-hour, we turned south and visited Memphis instead..!!
The folks from Tennessee are lovely and very friendly. Everybody should try to visit there someday, and perhaps even have a ride on a 'hoss'.
