FRUIT CAKE any one?

We really like the one from Collins Street Bakery in Corsicana Texas. BUT their white chocolate macadamia cheesecake is absolutely wonderful:D

We both like fruit cake because it’s what we had growing up ,but my favourite is what we called boiled fruit cake it’s not quite as rich or sweet at traditional fruit cake .
Ive never known anyone to add brandy or any type of alcohol to their BFC which is called that because you boil the butter/water / sugar / spice /fruit and let the mixture cool before adding eggs and flour rather than creaming butter / sugar method of allot of fruit cakes.

@Kadee46,,, that's how I made my fruitcake.

All the replies about fruitcake got me making one.

Was surprised to find container of candied pineapple in crisper bin,, had to soak it a bit.
Cooked down the maraschino cherries .

Hubby was into the fruitcake this morning.
I had half a slice,, could have put more nuts in it.

I'll wait till the hoildays are over before I dig out the recipe for Boston Brown Bread.

I know of people who add pineapple but I’m allergic to that so I’ve never added it .
I have to confess I actually bought a cake this year from the lions club which is a world wide community club. @Silverfox
My gran made a nice fruit cake using pastry mix in place of flour / butter I still make it once in a while.
