Even though we have lots of family
get togethers, they’re usually at my daughter’s house because she has the largest one and we’re a big family. Plus we typically don’t get everyone in both families together all at once.
I realized that there were extended family members on both sides of Ron’s and my family who hadn’t met each other, so I took advantage of the fact that Ron and my granddaughter Lucy share a birthday, and had a large blended family birthday get together so that kids, grandkids, grandparents could all finally meet.
Started at 1.00, grilled hots dogs and hamburgers, made it a potluck so everyone brought something to share, and it was a big success! Folks were still hanging around at 5, the grand babies all played together beautifully, it was busy and noisy with lots of laughter and fun. Great time for everyone!
