Fun with my new Smart TV

Have been exploring around YouTube, which I’ve enjoyed before on Tablet, especially classical performances and exotic stringed instruments. New fun is all the fancy British and other European band performances, like for the Queen , other rulers, exotic regiments, National holidays military displays. Other things like Māori and other indigenous performances. Seems like the main place in US for fancy marching & bands is football games.

Saw an interesting hour + documentary on what young men have to go through to become a member of the French Foreign Legion ( Legion etrangere)

I've had my smart TV for a long time.. I keep seeing Youtube on it.. and by-passing it, thinking I'll look another time..

I think I'm not really bothered about watching it on my TV screen because my Apple Mac Monitor is 27 wide, so in reality not that much smaller than my TV..

My daughter ( aside from her work projects).. uses her TV screen for all her internet use ...it's very funny seeing hotmail up on a 60 inch screen in the livingroom

I’ve had and still have smart tv’s…….kind of a waist, like Holly, my Mac screen is 27”, so that’s what I use for you tube etc.
But…..
Just wait…..when I sometime may not have a smart tv, I will want to use it. 😏.

I do not understand technology. Somewhere I heard that smart tv's are like computers, that they have cameras and can be used by hackers to see into your home. I can't get wifi here, so I decided to get a tv that was not "smart". You can actually google "dumb" tv. I think there were only two left in the US. So now, no one can see into my home, not that anyone would want to, and my tv was a heck of a lot cheaper than a smart tv. :sneaky:

I love mine as well. I pay for most of the major apps but get some for free as a perk of my mobile phone provider or other subscriptions I have. I do like You Tube, so much so that I pay extra for no ads. I go down lots of You Tube rabbit holes and it is amazing the content one can discover. I spent several hours watching planes take off and land at Chicago’s airport. Why? It was just mesmerizing I suppose. I bought a subscription to the Acorn TV channel during Amazon’s Prime Day. I have become hooked on a show about the emergency department at King’s Collage Hospital in London (24 Hours In A&E). So interesting to see how different the medical systems are compared to the US and to hear the various dialects and slang words.

I've been thinking about getting a smarter tv, cause I've
got 400 channels with Spectrum tv and lots of nites don't
find anything I want to watch...but I do see ads about
streaming shows that I do not recieve....what to do ????
