Funeral = Burial or cremation?

Cremated

but first

I wanna be stuffed with unpopped popcorn

oughta be interesting

maybe a movie afterwards

My Grandpa bought plots for the generations after him. I will be buried there but request no viewing, flowers or open casket. If people would like to donate to an animal shelter, that's fine with me.

Cremation, with no fuss at all, no funeral. First of all a funeral is a huge waste of money, and second, the idea of being buried in the ground creeps me out in the extreme.

In the words of the immortal John Prine:

"Please don't bury me
Down in that cold, cold ground
No, I'd rather have 'em cut me up
And pass me all around"

"Throw my brain in a hurricane
And the blind can have my eyes
And the deaf can take both of my ears
If they don't mind the size"

"Give my stomach to Milwaukee
If they run out of beer
Put my socks in a cedar box
Just to get 'em out of here."

"Venus De Milo can have my arms
Look out! I've got your nose
Sell my heart to the junk man
And give my love to Rose"

"Give my feet to the footloose
Careless, fancy free
And give my knees to the needy
Don't pull that stuff on me"

"Hand me down my walking cane
It?s a sin to tell a lie
Send my mouth way down south
And kiss my ass goodbye"

I have to agree with old John.......pass on anything that can be used and then nuke the rest. Scatter me in a waterfall and think about me fondly at times. I've seen too many dreadful funerals to want one for myself.

For all the reasons stated above, I have chosen cremation. Mine is all paid for & I carry a card in my wallet with instructions.

Falcon,

Thanks for mentioning the wallet card!

I made one up this morning on my computer and trimmed it to put in my wallet.

I put a second copy in the Medical Action Bag that hangs on my bedroom door.
