Funny Family Names

It's the spelling of a couple of them that's not so common, Ina.

Beaullah, Ina, D'Ann.

I've known several Beulah's, 1-2 Ina's, and a half doz Deannes. I've got some strange names in my family as well. :)

I come from a long line of funny names. The line goes, Leroyal,Beaullah, Leola, Ina, ER, D'Ann. :magnify:

I have honestly never heard of any of those names before...apart from Ina when I was a child because I had an old aunt Ina, but I haven't heard it in 40 years..

Pretty names tho', but are they shortened in everyday use?

Glad you are on form today, Ina.

I come from a long line of James, and Stanley.
i have nothing further to contribute!

If only!
My ancestors were the most unimaginative lot evva! All of them! Everybody (except me) got named after their parents, then after their parents' siblings. It makes it just hell on wheels to trace them genealogy wise because everyone else was doing the same thing and you end up with a page full of people all with the same name, most unrelated as the surnames were common too.
The only commonest of given names that doesn't echo down the lines is John. Not a one to be found which is a bit odd really. No Georges Dicks or Harrys either. All Bills 'n Toms 'n Bobs 'n Sams 'n Joes 'n Stans... I think every female was Mary, Jane or Sarah. Booooring!

Giggleworthy story: Worked with a girl surnamed Laycock. It was deeply embarrassing to her and she couldn't wait to get married and change it.
She found and married a really gorgeous hunk that we all envied her for surnamed .... Cockerill.

Hi Di, Parents can be weird. I was 14 when my oldest son was born. I was so tired, I guess I passed out. While I was out, my X decided to name our son. He name him Mister ER ********, (no periods). It took me begging just to get the Mister taken off his birth certificate. I sure didn't think it was funny then, nor did my son. BUT......... :stupid:
