Further along the Jurassic coast to Weymouth..Pics

The fact that I was on my own.. the fact that there was no Internet available at the Caravan... and the fact that I'm such an avid photo taker, and the possibility I won't go down there again...all spurred me on to get to see as much of the areas as possible...

I tell you my car covered more miles on that 5 day trip than it has in as many months...
You have covered quite a considerable area in the short space of time that you had. Your photos are wonderful, being local it's easy to get blasé about the views, but you have put a freshness into them. Did you manage to get a shot of Old Harry Rocks at Studland? Swanage and Studland aren't that far from Corfe Castle.

No I didn't unfortunately , I didn't know about it.. but even if I had as I said, I didn't arrive there until later afternoon Monday due to the storms .. and it rained for the first 2 days..so I had very little time left to get to see as much as I could in the next 3 days .. and it involved a lot of driving..One of the first places that I encountered which I thought was pretty was Lyndhurst, on the way to Poole... and of course the beautiful drive through the New Forest...

Hollydolly, Thanks for the great photos, but currently I get a lot of '503' errors from the image h osting service. I'll try later for the ones I can't view.

It's an area I visited often when I lived in Hampshire. I sometimes miss the south of England, but it's much too busy for me now.

Next time Holly, do try and get to see Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Durdle Door. You can see
from the last photo that it's very popular so best plan to go when you can avoid the crowds.
You have given Dorset a better write up than any travelogue, well done you.

No HC I have no intentions of going to Durdle door ..I've seen it enough in the news with the thousands of people descending on it whenever the sun shines..not for me all those crowds...

Thanks again for the photos - I've been able to view them all, so it must just have been a glitch in the system. The crowds are one thing that I don't miss about the south of England.
I've seen the Durdle door a few times and here is a pic. of another interesting feature from this end of the world... The Bow fiddle rock.

Lovely pictures, holly, but it's all too crowded for me. You can't get the feel of a place when they are lots of people milling about. Still, it's good to see so many people spending their holidays in this country instead of going abroad.
