Gabapentin 100mg Cap Does anyone take this?

600 m/g three times p/day here.

I am currently seeking alternatives , but @ this time I wouldn't want to do without it.
My husband takes the same dose - 2 in the morning, 1 in the evening...for benign essential tremor of the hands. It helps but doesn't get rid of it. Wine added really gets rid of it so before dinner he has 2 glasses of wine!

I take 1200mg Lyrica (pregabalin) a day, which is very similar to gabapentin, to help my severe symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. My dosage is twice the recommended dosage of Lyrica and I have been taking it at this dosage for over 10 years without problem. Before that I took high dosage gabapentin for many years, also without any issues.

I was prescribed 300 mg. of gabapentin for my peripheral neuropathy(just numbness), I took it for 3 weeks, it didn't help....just made me drowsy and foggy. My doctor did a poor job of listening to his patient(me) or he would have understood that the script would be of no use.

There aren't a lot of options for treating peripheral neuropathy other than if the cause of it can be identified. Peripheral neuropathy isn't a disease itself, rather a symptom or consequence of something else going on in the body. For diabetics, sometimes dietary adjustments will relieve the symptoms. If the cause can't be determined or treated then you have to look into something like gabapentin or pregabalin (Lyrica) to treat the symptoms. I think the Lyrica works faster and more effectively than gabapentin, but I took a lot more than 300mg for it to be effective.

True, my doc ran a bunch of tests, I believe he made a thorough effort but in the end the diagnosis was "ideopathic", meaning "we dunno".🤷‍♂️
Yeah, I saw over a dozen specialists when I first started having the problem and theirs was the same analysis as yours, "idiopathic". I not only have numbness but terrible pain and loss of sensation. It was just in my feet for about 20 years but a couple years ago moved into my hands. It has drastically affected my typing which impacts my job as a computer programmer

No, I refuse to take it or the other meds, too many side effects. I just put up with the numbness. Sometimes my feet are so numb I wonder if they are still there 🤦🏻‍♀️

There is also Hereditary Motor Sensory Neuropathy.

Along with a bunch of other tests for my peripheral neuropathy, I had a "small nerve biopsy" of both legs. The result came back saying my nerves are "slightly depressed". Well, who the hell wouldn't be these days??? Hmmmmph......

I love how doctors like to throw that word "idiopathic" around. That translates to: "I have no idea what's causing your problems but I'm going to order a bunch more tests and see you every couple weeks because the new model BMW is coming out and my new trophy wife wants one in every color...."

I've been taking 100mg Gabapentin for about six years now, 2-4 times a day depending on the pain. It's done some good, but it's no miracle drug.

I've read a couple of times that it's bad for your teeth. I asked my dentist and he hadn't heard that. I am having some tooth problems, but I'm blaming age for that.

I have been taking, first, gabapentin and now Lyrica for almost 25 years at 3 times the dosage you are and have had no problems with my teeth.
