Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs

The last time we were there, some whackadoo with little experience climbing
and the wrong equipment decided he was a mountaineer and started up a pinnacle. He ran out of steam on the way up and had to be rescued.

It was interesting to watch.

I believe climbing is, or was, allowed, of course with the proper permit, equipment and level of skill.

It's a gorgeous, gorgeous place to walk around. There's something "otherworldly"about it.

Have never visited that special geologic place since it is distant, but as a landscape photographer have hiked and explored many in Utah's Colorado Plateau. If you like pinnacles and towers as I do, you might especially like, Bryce Canyon National Park, Arches National Park, Goblin Valley State Park, and Fisher Towers and especially the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park.

Way back when, my company had offices in Colorado Springs and I would occasionally get to go. I always made time for a trip to GotG when I was there.
