Gardening, am I missing?

There doesn’t seem to be much about gardening despite it being listed as a subject under the HOME heading. Am I missing something? Or is it just not popular?
I have a big garden, huge, over an acre, which takes up a lot of my time, mainly trying to stop it turning into a wilderness! But I’m a plantaholic too. Last summer I bought over twenty new clematis, amongst lots of other things, to add to the dozens already around the place.
I grow a lot from seed to save money & belong to several gardening societies…the RHS, Hardy Plant, Cottage Garden, Clematis, Cyclamen & Alpine societies.

The only sensible gardening during the colder months is to stay indoors, warm and snug, and listen to GQT :D 📻

We have to water every blade of grass. The vegetable garden is doing well. Every hot pepper of tomatoes is kind of gold plated but it makes SO happy. Spring is a long ways yet.
Water is something there’s no shortage of of up here on the moors !
Winter is when I get out & do the heavy pruning when you can see the bare bones of the trees & shrubs, put in drainage & do any repairs to the greenhouse, coldframes, sheds etc.

You're up north on the Moors ?.. It must be frozen, surely ? 🥶

I have a fair size garden, but generally I tend to just discuss it on the regular chat threads...

Our Member, @MarkD has a lot of gardening going on in hs thread-

Gardening for nature, walks with my dogs and the books I’m reading.

Lots to read and see there.

In single to minus digits there is little out door work going on.

How about posting some pictures of your garden?

My winter tomato's are just about finished. I did however take some seeds from the plumpest ones and I've started little seedlings for spring.
Strawberries are putting out, but, not as many as I'd hoped for.
Banana trees have come back. (I worried about them with the one frosty day we had).
Fig tree survived and looks good.
Potato's are coming along. I have to keep covering them as some are trying to pop out of the ground.
Peach and apple tree's have blossoms on them already. Cherry tree is still waiting I guess.
My little red grape plant got hurt in that frost, but, I saved some seeds from one of the grapes and they're already growing in the little cups.

Do you leave the plants in those buckets to grow.....or are they just starting in there, then you'll transplant in to something bigger? I've always thought that wouldn't be enough room for growth to happen.

While I have grown some in raised gardens, We found 5 gallon buckets or 5 gallon pots made it much easier to maintain, (keep bugs and critters at bay).

We tried grow bags last year. It was a mess on the tile floor, 5 gallon did not retain enough moisture for a day.

This year it will be six 4-foot high raised beds and trellises made of plumbing pipe. Tomatoes have huge pots and get pulled out by August.

Plenty of floral companion plants to make pollinators happy.

Right now we are growing ice flowers:(

I have two 4' X 4' garden squares plus an asparagus bed (15' X 4' just keeps on giving) and another bed (15' X 4') for corn or any other crop I may decide to plant. Where I live in Missouri, the ground is now frozen hard, and it is cold and snowy now. So, I do some planning and get my seeds ordered, but the rest is just waiting until Spring and planting time...
