Gave myself a bit of a fright today

In the UK we're always told that we must not carry any identifying documentation in our cars..Log book, Drivers licence , MOT , Insurance etc... If we're stopped by the Police we're given 7 days to produce the documentation at the nearest Police station...
I wonder if my friend learned this from someone in the UK.

I lost my wallet three years ago, right when everything started to happen. I really should not say lost, I know exactly what happened. I left it at the counter of a store and I assume the woman who was behind me took it because the next day my credit card had a charge of over $5oo for a wig. Anyway, with the outbreak of COVID at the time it was not fun trying to get through to the banks on the phone (all the branches were closed). The biggest lesson I learned though was never carry my SS card in my wallet. That was a huge hassle and it took about three months to finally get a replacement card. As I have mentioned in another post , since then I never carry my cards in my wallet now. Just a little bit of cash and I pay with my phone and I have my SS card in a safe at home.

And yes, I finally got through to the bank and the charge for the wig was dismissed. I still am amazed that out of anything one could buy with a stolen credit card, why they would pick a wig. I read somewhere that the majority of charges on a stolen credit card are for gas and shoes.
well certain women in society only wear wigs when out and about, and so they're a must have accessory for them..

My stolen credit card was a Dell computer and printer. The credit card company called me asking if I made the charges. Once I told them no, we went through the complete statement and found that was the only one. No problem, they sent me a new card and number.
Credit cards are the only think I pay with these days. I get so much free stuff using my credit cards, and never carry a balance. Free airline and hotel for 10 days in Maui...two years in a row. All my kitchen appliances were free with Lowes gift cards cashing in hotel points, golf clubs, and so many other things. I love credit cards!
