This is something that I don't understand, the why, not the how-to.

Whose idea is/was it, I have never heard such rubbish, (to me), in my
life, in the past some strange man would have his bits chopped off, I
knew of one, in Gloucester, after many years, he went crazy, I also
heard that he committed suicide.

Scotland are trying to legalise this for school children, this to me is
another, NO, the age of majority in Scotland is 16, this was created
for the first referendum, to get the S.N.P. more votes, but school
children are exactly that, children.

Maybe this post is in bad taste, but this is something that is happening.

Even the Church of England is having meetings about a gender neutral
name for God.

I am the only person who thinks that this is wrong, I heard on the news,
earlier, that a Gender Change Girl/Woman, 16 years old was stabbed to
death yesterday, very sad, especially when the police say that it is not a
hate crime.

I apologise for the bit of a rant and if it is a wrong subject, then delete
it, Matrix.

This is a recent interview I saw elsewhere and copied it for this thread. Perhaps it is more informative about this subject. I personally did not watch it, but I understand it is quite telling.

 
Boston Children’s Hospital has a special section of the hospital set aside for gender changing surgery for adolescents and and young adults. “Center for Gender Surgery Program at Boston Children’s Hospital. The hospitals provides care for the pre adults who have already taken the step to be a binary or changed their gender. Surgery is only performed on consenting adults. Here is what I have read.

I absolutely agree with you 100% Mike, life is hard enough growing up without this rubbish giving kids more to worry about

I dread to think what will happen to them and future generations, luckily we won’t be around to witness the results of today’s lunacy.......
 
What really concerns me is they start on kids on the cusp of puberty! For cryin out loud, if ever there was a time of uncertainty in a child's life it starts then. They are told that if they are unhappy they need to choose their gender. Stick with the one you were born with or change. They are told they need to choose!!!
 
Recognition that the taboo religion put on people is changing. That the role of what gender a person society identifies with isn't necessarily the role one wants for themselves. I'm surprised there is no claim its all part of God's plan for mankind.

I don't see what the big fuss is, has anyone here been forced to have a gender change? Nobody is forcing anyone to go through a surgery, that is typical hype and fear mongering by some people who cannot open their minds and realize we are not all the same...and shouldn't be.

Since I was a child, there were people who were gay, people who were not comfortable with the body they were given. Back then these surgery options were most likely unavailable. It is a very personal decision, and my heart goes out to anyone who needs to resolve an inner conflict in order to be a happy and content person. I wish them well.

As far as pronouns for religious 'beings', I bet it was men who gave their gods the he, him description. No surprise there. Many men have/had little respect for women, did not want them to be treated equally and have equal rights. Some of those men not only look down of gay and transgender people, but they also look down on anyone who does not look like them and share their beliefs. Not a very kind or loving quality if you ask me.

Nobody is being harmed by the medical decisions made by others. Nobody is being forced, don't excite yourself listening to fear mongering noise out there, it is propaganda being spread by those with an agenda. Don't be suckered into that angry and hateful mindset, it's not healthy. Also, don't go to a youtube blogger for valid information on this important and serious topic. I won't waste my time clicking on that and financially benefiting the youtuber for his opinion.

+1, QFT. I'm not quite sure of "why" people are so attracted to the 'fear & outrage' hype being so plentifully provided by various media, but apparently there is an attraction, because they keep coming back for more. Peoples view of social and political matters being distorted by self-serving so called "news" has been so divisive, destroying friend & family relationships so much better than some malevolent foreign dictatorship ever could, that seeks to bury the U.S. from within.

Exactly, the enemy within, we see too much of that lately and it's destroying us more than a foreign attack. Foreign attacks unite us, homegrown attacks divide and can kill us. :(

It's horrible, crazy and diabolic! The worst thing ever. They brainwash the kids who are trying to figure out their feelings into thinking they want to be the other gender. :( It's horrible.

I personally don't care what people do with their own bodies, but to
make it possible for children to decide, is very wrong, but with the
children, it is "Peer Pressure", that decides most things, somebody
says "I dare you" and one will go through with it so as not to lose
any credibility.

A friend's workmate found out on a phone call that a granddaughter
was going through the process of, "How to have it done", in a very
positive way, she is 12 years old!

I have 3 layers of children under me Pepper, daughter and son, grand-
children and great grandchildren, they are all in Scotland who are at
the front of allowing children to decide for themselves, this girl's mum
found accidentally, when she called the school about another matter,
seems like they don't need to consult parents at all.

I watched a youtube video of a man who deeply regretted getting a s*x change! His body did not tolerate the mutilation and his body kept thinking his fake v* was a wound and kept closing it up. Plus all of the hormone drugs messed his system up. Plus a lot of other things he opened up about. And they want to do that with kids, starting out by chemically castrating them before puberty with puberty blockers. Stopping it before they can even know what it feels like to be a man. Horrible.

I have no problem with adults making adult choices. But I do think kids are vulnerable just prior to puberty. From what I have read delaying puberty is something kids and parents of troubled kids are asked to consider. Some kids are discussing this with teachers and school counselors without their parents knowledge. That concerns me. What determines our gender and behavior as such is hormones:

"The main reproductive hormones estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone are instrumental in sexuality and fertility. They are responsible for pregnancy, puberty, menstruation, menopause, sex drive, sperm production and more. These hormones are produced in the ovaries (in females) and testes (in males)."

Nature should be allowed to take it's course without any woke interference.
 
Why is gender dysphoria being treated differently from body dysmorphia? We don't tell people who have anorexia that they should starve themselves to fit a warped self-image.

There are a lot of people & medical facilities who are making money off of this. Sadly, it's not their life that will forever be changed. How do you explain the young people who had the surgery & then realize it wasn't right for them? They can't undo what has been done.

This doesn't belong in our schools. Schools should be concerned with teaching the basics - reading, writing & arithmetic so the kids can make it in the world on their own. Any teacher, counselor or school employee who talks to kids about this are nothing more than a Groomer.

It's more like recruitment than education.
 
The children/adolescents whose funerals I have attended were not groomed. They were ignored, snubbed, mocked, and bullied for wanting bodies which matched their minds. They tried so very hard to conform to society’s “norms”, but were unable to do so. They paid with their lives. Suicide, or murdered while living on the streets, because living at home was not an option. This is a reality therapists encounter all too often.

Michele and Roger Blair said that their daughter, Sage, was allowed to change her name to Draco and use the boys' restrooms at Appomattox County High School in central Virginia without their permission.

The couple said teachers effectively sidelined them from supporting their daughter, who suffered from depression, during her at-school transition. Ultimately, they only discovered she was trans after finding a hall pass in Draco's name.

'Why they didn't tell me or at least request a parents' meeting to this day is just way beyond my understanding,' said Michele.

Holly ... I read the article you posted in #20. How very sad & how disturbing. Another teenager whose life has been destroyed with what she went through because those who have no real love, responsibility or concern for her welfare thought they knew better than her parents.

IMO, to call this child abuse is too mild. It's much worse than that & these people have no consequences for their actions. An adult who decides to transition makes the decision because they're supposed to be mature & be in possession of all facts involved.

Teachers who do this have no business being a teacher, let alone being around kids. They are Groomers. Are Groomers any different than sex offenders?

I don't either, however if an adult wants to do something like this, and I don't have to help pay for it I am not against it. I have a friend who's son became a daughter recently, in her/his mid twenties. She is now a much more confident and apparently happier person than before, so more power to her. I don't think pre-adult should be allowed to have the surgery and other treatments, it needs to be a well informed adult decision, in my opinion.

Such things are a part of nature in some animals, no surgery necessary. Just got back from grouper fishing and found this:

A transgender female (former male) is in my bridge club. The transition occurred in her 60’s. The emotional wreckage in her wake has been bad. Divorced wife of many years, confused children and especially grandchildren. And she is truly bad at being a woman. She has worn her (thinning) hair in pigtails, something no woman over the age of 15 would do. And she man spreads while wearing a short dress. It’s not pretty. But it’s her life, and everyone accepts that. It does make me sad. I think it is a cry for attention.
