Gene Hackman and wife found dead in their home

I think he was estranged from his children. Yes, I was surprised as well that they had no household help. Was she really sick or just got sick very quickly, 48 hours comes to mind, from the rodent droppings. Now they are free may they rest in peaceπŸ™
No household help. That's what gets me. Maybe she didn't realize how bad his condition was. With certain medical conditions they cover home visits. Even if a few days a week maybe someone would've been there at the right time.

I can see privacy concerns or I wonder if she didn't want to burn up his money with home care not just for inheritance but to stay in that house. His condition was obviously pretty advance by the time she died so why no care home or in a facility.

Many people want to take care of an ailing partner without outside help, and usually they do until overwhelmed. In this case, the caregiver died unexpectedly. Still I can't imagine not having near full time help taking care of a mansion that big.

Last night I watched Nancy Grace on television and she was covering Gene Hackman and his wife’s death. I’m shocked that she was so far behind in her news. She was under the impression that they died close together timewise. I’m shocked how little she knew about the story.

She did have news about one of the children though. She said that the one child hadn’t heard from her parents in 3 months and said that really stuck to themselves. Neither Gene or his wife called their daughter often.

I’m still shocked that they had nobody helping them keep that house clean. Maybe that’s why Genes wife died from that rodents disease. Maybe their house was infested with them.

I feel sorry for them. What a way to die.
It’s terrible.

It's rather descriptive of a 'film script' heh - bizzare but true? I assume that Mr Hackman alone may not have had the wherewith all to know how to feed himself and may have just accessed tap water? and then his pacemaker stopped - wow - unbelievable - However in a macabre scenario they remained together somehow and died together somehow? The dogs do haunt me

They said they only found droppings in the garage and if his wife cleaned the garage that's when she could've got infected.

Absolutely more regular caretaker visits a couple times a week could've made a difference. Also when cleaning a garage I always left the door open and opened a window for ventilation. She could've picked up particulate matter from droppings from numerous places though. Droppings in the garage means they're in the area.

I'm thinking this is not true... unless it comes out in the real news media? I can't find it except on social media.
I'll edit my post if I find out differently. (I should add that this video is unavailable, so I don't know what it says, but I see no real news sites saying anyone was sentenced.)

The last article I read about the Hackmans was about their will. If he predeceased her, she got the estate. Vice versa if she went first. There are often 30 day clauses to cover unusual events. It could be a tangled mess settling their affairs.

Is that shrew still on TV?

A tale of being in the worlds limelight for a while and then becoming a recluse - that's what money can buy? Sounds like but maybe not : that they had perhaps fallen out with other family members like daughters etc some oldies do that and some kids go their own astray? I imagine that eventually very little additional info will be released for many reasons but it looks like their is one big "privacy clause" hanging over this whole event. And it is sorta of a shame because the large majority of us are only here to pay our last respects?

It’s going to court the end of March... Hackman’s son is lawyered up to fight the will.

This video is 20+ mintues long, mostly about the will.

I watched the entire thing and didn’t get any ads. Gene’s estate is worth $80, 000,000 and his willed it to his 2nd wife. (The will was made 2005. Twenty years ago. )
Only problem is that she died before him. Apparently he wasn’t close to his children. They hadn’t talked to each other in months, clearly not a close relationship. Probate on his will is going to be interesting. Apparently if his wife did die before him they both wanted it to go to their favourite charities. All three kids were disinherited. Well I personally know how that feels like.

We can still love our children unconditionally, but we don’t have to keep them in the will. Why would we want to reward bad behavior? If my kids didn’t contact or speak to me, I may consider cutting them out of my will. There are plenty of good charities that can always use money.

I may put a note in the will explaining to the children why they were written out of the will for part of the estate.

those producing it can make a lot more money out of controlling it and not releasing - perhaps the mainstreams won't come to the right money table? Yes I could understand the over-dramatization but they still put a lot of facts on the table that so far haven't been disputed and they haven't been taking to court as far as I know or the dvd removed?

A few facts that investigators can prove, don’t fall into the timeline of events on that video … like his wife’s date of death.

About the Will itself, I really doubt the daughter would have access to the one and only copy of it, and be able to change anything and even remove pages.
A legal document like that has to be notarized and filed within the Court system.
His attorney, or executor would probably have a copy, for probate court.
