For the longest time I wondered why the tedious procedure when yer all powerful.

Then, after butchering wood for a few years, creating living quarters and such, I came to the conclusion to slow down....savor the event.

I've found there's much pleasure in taking time to do the pleasurable

I think that's a rare chance if any, except that your family is all human with human needs for hundreds of different substances to be and to remain alive and healthy.
Illness "runs" in a lot of communities, not just families, due to wide range of pollutants - radiation, lead, week diller, pesticides, and due to malnutrition, even if just one substance. If someone finds a good "tester" who has experience identifying both nutrients present or lacking/deficiencies, and toxins present especially in kidneys, liver and brain, it can help a lot to resolve issues long before they start , or often hopefully to reverse problems even after they have been going on for years or decades.
Normal medical channels are not generally helpful , it is not in their protocol/methods to be, except in urgent/severe cases sometimes, or if paid enough to actually discover what's going on and not just treat symptoms.

Another consideration for the congestive heart failure may be that as a family unit we were all exposed to the same environmental factors?

So the first thing to be noticed is if God was all powerful able to do anything imaginable, he would not have needed to do so that way. Just think whatever and it happens. The verse bothers to note God put Adam asleep to do so just like modern medicine would do with an anesthesia.

The second thing of notice is this oddly is one of only a very very few verses in the Bible that bothers to describe something with even a bit of possible science. Our bone marrow ribs and breastbone are one of the few places within a human body where undifferentiated stem cells may be readily obtained. Such undifferentiated stem cells in lower animals are already being used to research creating life in vitro. Such would likely be a process used by a race of Ultimate Intelligent Entities.

Third, that the verse bothers to incidentally note God put closed up Adam's flesh after doing so. If Moses actually witnessed a vision of how that occurred, he indeed may as a science illiterate have recorded it so. One might expect Moses to ask God about Adam and Eve. And note I do not expect Adam and Eve were the first homo sapiens but rather the first specially genetically modified humans that could be a subject for a future thread if this thread bares value.

"Ignore" is also extremely valuable. If someone like Jon doesn't find benefit in threads about religion, why do they participate? I'm not religious, but I find the topic interesting. When someone appears to be getting hostile, I just don't reply, or I let them know they are free to ignore me - it has no effect on my self-esteem. Personally, I prefer not to ignore folks - they might have something to say that interests me - but, I have my limits.

I'm the same. I don't Ignore other members, regardless of whether I agree with them or not, because different opinions make for "spirited" and sometimes entertaining conversation. BTW, Jon left the forum.

And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

Eve was the second woman created, not the first, who was created equal to Adam in method of creation.

The first woman was, in Hebrew lore, Lilith, who demanded equality and forced from the garden for the more passive Eve.

Eve's eating of the fruit merely shows what a wuss Adam was for not being able to control the second version of woman. All his fault.

Although, the Hebrews saw leaving the garden as a blessing to mankind for giving the challenge of growth. The garden is not paradise, all earth is.

I've heard about Lilith, but haven't actually seen any references to her anywhere.

She is mentioned in the bible chapter Isaiah. References to her are in the stories in Commentary or Midrash. Lilith is also viewed as a demoness and not the first Eve. The discrepancy of Chap. 1 & 2 is not always explained the same way.

I was taught that Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden as punishment. Interesting. Given human history since then, this seems more logical to me.

I think or believe there's over 10,000 words in Torah/Scripture(including NT) that describe kosmos(the world/society) , man or mankind(including women and children) , and religion(God Hates) and worldly business(es) and so on, all acurately without a mistake except when someone mis-translates a word or words. The original Author is still available and helps those He Is Pleased with all their/our/ lives in this life and the next, so any errors may be cleared up by Him.
Reejecting worldly christendom seems to be necessary to find the truth.
