Gentle posts for gentle folks

I hope that you are able to go home soon, @Kaila. I have had to be in the hospital, although not in a rehab facility, and I was always so thankful when I could go back home. It seems like you never get enough sleep because they wake you up every few hours for labwork, BP check, or some other thing, and when I finally would get home again, I was so happy to be in my own bed and sleep all night.
Prayers for continuing recovery !

Hope they are treating you well @Kaila, and that you will soon be able to go home.

Merry Christmas to you!

Don't worry, @Kaila; I happened to have just finished that post and it read to me like what you meant, visitors at the rehab. :)
Hang in there. It sounds like you're trying hard and making progress. ❤️ Merry Christmas, Kaila.
Thank you for the response @Medusa !
Yes, I try hard, even though it seems so up and down, to me.
But overall, I have definitely progressed.

I hope I will find that it is enough progress for what I need to be able to do at home, when I get there.

I guess I should just try to focus on getting guidance here from the therapists, and getting stronger while I'm here.

Thanks for the support!

Good Morning Kaila, happy Christmas Eve! Wish you could be home during this time, but always good to hear you're getting stronger and more coordinated. Thinking of you and sending healing thoughts and warm hugs. 🧡

Thank you, dear seabreeze.
Thinking of you also, this week too!
💌💗💟💌

I hope you've got some plan to help with your week, too.
Sending extra caring your way!

My best wishes for your progress today, Kaila. ❤️

So,RR, and others.....
This morning my breakfast tray had no coffee on it.
Not wanting to bother the busy servers, I ate my food, including prune juice and oatmilk.....

A short time later, I pointed out that my coffee had not come, and she said:

I will see if they have any left.

WhAT??!

They might not have any warm coffee available???

Gosh.

I was relieved when she brought some, in a cold cup,....
But it was warm. Whew.

They have very small cups, and I only ask for 2 per day.

But want a small treat.
And it was not quite mid morning yet.

As it is, I can't eat most of the foods and treats they have here.

All's well that ends with coffee.

😄

Thank you for the message, and the extra understanding!
Yes I came into hospital with sleep problem, and they address many issues, but they make that one worse!
😴 💤 🛏

Kaila, can you please explain your issue with foods?
Starts with a tongue problem and a chewing problem..... then swallowing..... choking......a few stomach issues, then colon, then IBS.......:confused:
I don't like to go into more details online.

I like a lot of foods but many of them don't work out well for me. :(

On the plus side, I was able to enjoy a soft sugar donut for a treat today , with some applesauce on the side.👍😀☺️

Is this something they expect to go away or something you will have to deal with for a while yet (or permanently) ? If you have to always have soft foods, you might want to consider a Ninja Creami once you are back at home. You can make a healthy smoothie-type drink, freeze it, and the Ninja turns it into delicious ice cream that you should be able to eat.

It's a long- term problem that's very challenging, thank you for responding.
That might help with some of the problems so I will be interested to see what types of food could be used.

Is that different from usual blenders?

I wonder what proteins foods could be used with that....
Non- dairy.... and not nuts.

Also some blenders are heavy for me to handle and to wash parts....

But I am very open to considering it!

Maybe that would even be for making frozen treats that could have some nutrition too 🤔

I have extremely small counter space, but.....

The Ninja Creami is an ice cream machine, @Kaila , not a blender. However, you can use a blender to put in whatever you want and then use the Creami to turn it into ice cream.
We use protien powder, cottage cheese, yogurt, fruits, cocoa powder, and milk, and sometimes instant pudding. Mixed in various ways, you can make all kinds of delicious ice cream this way, and use healthy foods to make it with, so you are actually getting a whole meal, but it seems like ice cream.
An expert on the Ninja Creami, is @katlupe, who has had one for several years, and has a lot of experience using it to make healthy frozen/drinkable meals that are like having a bowl of ice cream for dinner.

I mix whatever foods I am wanting to flavor the ice cream in my blender, and then pour them into the creami containers and freeze overnight. The next day, they are ready to put into the Creami machine, and it turns it into rich, creamy delicious ice cream..

Here is a quick video that shows you what exactly the Ninja Creami is, and there are lots and lots of good recipes online to use to make different flavors.

If any of you are alone or lonely,

for the big holiday, tomorrow, or this evening, or tomorrow evening....

And if you would like to,
Then drop in here with me,
on my diary thread.

Or on my wild bird one.

I'll be glad to see you and to say hello.

It does not need to be anything about the holidays.
It could just be friendly hello's.
