Cleanings and fillings and other dental work...is important to not let it fall too far behind.
Though I tried not to let it, it sometimes does, and it only made me need bigger procedures.

Two days ago, I managed to take dh to a spot that we could both view the ocean for a short but precious while.
It's not far but was the first time in over a year that we'd managed to do that.

It was a major feat for us.
And a memory i will cherish.

We were totally worn out since then.
Today i need to get myself to a Dr appointment.
Time to start getting ready but I wanted to say hello here, first.

Accuweather says the high is 79F/26C today. That's 20 degrees cooler than yesterday. Please, let it be true!

@Kaila, the ocean is so soothing, isn't it? There's something about the ocean that touches the soul. Wonderful that you and husband got to spend some time with it.

@Jules, Sorry to hear about hubby's bad arm or shoulder. This makes life very difficult. I hope it gets resolved quickly. Did he strain his arm perhaps a rotator cuff injury?

@Babs2u, thanks for your kind words. Yes my dog is happy with DGS and fam. They live an hour away now, but visit once/twice a month. I'll see them and doggy this weekend when they come down from MA.

@Pam, you have a bad arm too? Oh no. I'm glad you have family around most of the time And if they're not around Rocco's there.

You and all the others with dental appointments i'm glad you;ve gotten through them. It's so important but not one of life's happier moments. So another doctor appointment for you today Kaila I hope it goes well and take a good rest when you get back home.

@ Medusa, I so agree with you about the ocean As a child we went every weekend during the summer weather permitting.

Well not much going on with me I had a cleaning lady come with her other lady yesterday so at least my house clean I clean it but I can't vacuum and washing the floors are difficult so they went through everything for me I'm so relieved.

Occupational Therapist was here yesterday and washed my hair in the sink And that feels so much better when I do it myself I get soaked 'cause I can't keep a towel around me with my left hand 'cause I need my left hand to wash my hair. The right hand does nothing. I will be starting another round of physical therapy I think Monday Well enough of that.

Thank goodness the heat broke It's only 62 degrees here today and it's so nice not to have the AC on all the time.

I'm thinking of making a vegetable bean soup today. I bought a package of frozen chopped soup vegetables and will add frozen kale, canned tomato and some tiny soup mac.

They think it’s a torn muscle or ligament. The doctor prescribed a compound that 4x the strength of Voltaren extra strength. It doesn’t seem to be doing anything yet. Me being me, I tried a little on my slightly sore upper arm. It worked like a hot damn. Now I’m going to buy some regular Voltaren for my ordinary aches and pains.

Good afternoon @Kaila and all. Youngest son has just left, I thought he would be painting the wall when he came the other day but he didn't, he filled in cracks etc. and today he sanded them down and generally prepared the wall. He's more thorough than me. He also swept the floor in this room and dusted round then swept kitchen floor. He's a good 'un. The wall is now definitely ready for painting and he'll do that tomorrow.

@RadishRose - I think my shoulder problem may be rotator cuff, I haven't been to the doctor, I know I should but I'm sick of doctors, dentists and opticians so I do exercises myself. However, I don't do them regularly and I really must because they definitely help. I'm convinced my shoulder problem started after using crutches whilst waiting for hip replacement.

@Kaila - nice that you got to see the ocean again. I live near the sea too but haven't been since last year. Hope to get there again soon with eldest son and Rocco.

Well, that's about it. Nothing exciting... as per usual. Going to have a look in the games room now then it will be time for tea followed by television.

@Kaila- it’s good that you are going to your pt appointments. It’s also good that you got your car fixed. It’s nice having a reliable car; something you can count on.
@Rossana- did your landscape team show up? I suppose the hot weather is affecting everyone in some way or an another .
@Medusa- you must feel so relieved getting your teeth fixed. Getting cavities drilled and filled can be a long daunting procedure but it’s good that you are getting it done. After that big cavity the small ones will seem like no big deal. How’s your garden doing? Is your blueberry bush producing berries yet? Stay cool my friend.
@RadishRose- I’m sorry to read that you had a fall and aren’t doing well. You are getting tested by your nurse to see how fast you can get up into your walker and meet her down the hall. Skipping pt exercises is catching up to you. Sorry to learn about your left arm not doing well but good to know you got your hair washed and house cleaned. I’m REALLY sorry to learn that you had to get rid of your sweet dog. It’s good that it went to close family. It still must have been difficult though.
@Jules - getting a walk while it’s early and much cooler is a good idea.
Sorry to read about your husbands bad arm. Old age comes with a lot of problems.
@Babs2u- Nice to see you here. I hope you are doing ok with this weather
@CallMeKate- it’s good to learn that your temperatures went down some . That’s a cute doggie picture.
@Pam - I hope your dentist appointment this month goes well .
Sorry to learn that you have a bad arm also. It’s good that you have a son able to help you. I like the name you called your boy dog. That’s a nice name for a boy dog. Your son sounds very helpful prepping wall / ready for painting and did some quick housework. What a sweetheart!

@Pinky- living in an apartment does cut you off from seeing a variety of birds. Sometimes the only birds you see in apartment buildings are pigeons or mourning doves. It must have been glorious living in a house in Australia with all the variety larger birds the country has to offer.
@katlupe- otc medicines for pain relief often have some type of anti inflammatory component to them which can cause stomach aches. Did you end up having another one and what was the outcome?
I hope you are feeling better. Sorry for the loss of your friend Emily!

@RadishRose I guess you don’t have a walk-in shower. If you did, you could put in a shower stool and put the nozzle on a hose. We changed ours to that hose and it’s come in handy. You could also do that in a tub but it’s a bit more precarious.

Adding: we also started using a shower mat that @StarSong recommended. I feel so much more secure.

After I got home from my appointment this morning, I was too exhausted, so I had to rest before I could eat.

And then ate a little, and needed to nap.

After which, I wanted to do 1 or the other, of 2 simple tasks, but......
I was just too exhausted, so I've gone to resting some more.

Well, the accomplishment is that i did go to that important appointment.

I very often find it very draining to get ready, and to go, and to sit in those endless wait rooms, etc....etc.....

It's definitely helpful but not as easy as i had hoped.

So glad you got to see the ocean. I hope you were close enough to hear it and maybe smell some of that wonderful salt air. I miss the ocean.
