Gentle posts for gentle folks

The fresh snow is so pretty - until the next day or when you have to shovel it.
Yes, it's very pretty. The wind makes landscape designs in the drifting snow banks. Like an artist's paint brush.

Are you okay, @Medusa ??
How are you doing, today?

Thinking of you, @RadishRose

@Rossana
Did this winter storm get to your area?

Good afternoon Kaila and friends
My husband is out making poo paths for the dogs. We had no snow yesterday but it’s making up for it today. We have a good 3 or 4 inches of snow and it’s supposed to snow all day and tonight also. It’s too bad to take the dogs for a walk today so they aren’t too happy.

I’m worried about all our members here. There are some places where there’s no power forecast for a week to 10 days. Some members are well prepared while others aren’t. I’m worried about those who aren’t and praying to God that they will be ok.

Hopefully everyone in this thread will be ok. I guess if they lose power we won’t know cause they will have no wifi .

Anyway I’m sending loving , caring thoughts your way hoping you do well in these unpredictable times.

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends 🤗 :coffee: ❄️

The best news today is that the co-op is closing early because of the snow and since husband's shift was closing, he doesn't have to go in and he's off tomorrow as well! Woot! Woot! Woot Baby!

Also, our street didn't get plowed yesterday --plow driver literally broke our corner street sign making a U-turn in the opposite direction instead of continuing on and plowing our street. Insult to injury.

An industrious young man knocked on our door this morning and offered to shovel our walkway and the sidewalk in front of our house for $20.00. That's a go! My son would have done it, but this kid is working hard to make a little money, so... Good for him. :)

Boyfriend asked me to send some pictures of the snow as he's not used to seeing that much snow where he lives in England. I would love to be able to say that. :ROFLMAO: We're going to play some Animal Crossing in a bit; the new additions are fun.

Thankfully, like others of you, we have nowhere we need to go today! Just many trips outside with Lucius. We're not doing walks again today as there just isn't any way to do them, the roads having not been plowed. So it's the treadmill for me again. I can't say I'm sorry about that, though I do feel bad for poor Lucius.

Sending warm (power on) thoughts to all you lovely people on this thread. ⚡🔌❤️
These will go nicely with Patty's coffee.

I am thinking about you all. I hope you are ok. I watched the news. They showed several places that were very affected by the weather. I also noticed that quite a few people were stuck at the airport in Orlando unable to get back home. Those are always very difficult situations.
Yesterday the high was 86 F and today 72 F. We had some rain this morning. It is sunny but very windy this afternoon and we are now experiencing a decline in temperature. Tonight it will go down to 33 F. It will be cool for the following days and cold at night. Northern Florida is colder than here in the winter. They were experiencing tornado warnings and hail yesterday.
On the overall, nothing to complain about in this area. I protected my plants, as some of them will not tolerate frost.
Please take care and stay safe. ❤️

Good morning, gang. I hope this is the day that my town finally opens up again... so tired of this. OH! And there could very well be a Nor'easter with more snow coming this weekend. Kaila, I remember us anxiously waiting for tulips and daffodils last year. I think it's going to be even more exciting this time because of the winter we're having!!

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends 🤗 :coffee: ❄️

Husband is off again today, which is lovely. I am getting one more day off from dog walks and using the treadmill instead, which is also lovely.

I'm all up in Animal Crossing right now because of the new updates and will definitely be playing today as well as catching up on a hockey game (which for some unknown reason had not dropped last night when it should have. No idea what their criteria is there as it doesn't make sense to me.).

Street is plowed today and the doctors' offices across the street are open. The world is slowly coming alive again. I guess that's good? We introverts don't mind the world shutting down, so much, I think. ;)

Having said the above though, @CallMeKate, say it isn't so!!! 😭 I do not want more snow!

Wishing everyone here a warm Tuesday afternoon. 🥕🥕🥕

Not sure where you are exactly, but the brand new projection shows that it may be further east and not affect my part of PA. I suppose they'll know more by Thursday. One of the reports even mentioned the word "blizzard" and I thought "heck NO!" So present mode: 🤞

Hi Kaila and friends, sorry I haven't checked in lately, but like you, Kaila, my sleep has been minimal so I grab quick naps when I can.

I hope everyone else is doing ok. This cold snap and all the snow has me down a bit. It feels like January will never end, and then we have to put up with February. I should be happy I am on this earth to have these to put up with. At my age, one never knows how many more we will see.

So I'll smile and be thankful for all I have. Cheers.

I just watched a quick forecast about this and, thankfully, I am well into the low risk for snow zone! Phew. Yes, keeping fingers crossed it stays that way for both of us!

On Sunday night when I turned out the light all the worries and negative thoughts came flooding in. Sleep was elusive. Last night I decided to leave the light on. It worked. I slept well. Don't know how often I can fool my brain but its worth a try.
That is wonderful, that worked for you for that one night. I'm so happy to hear that!
I sure do understand about those worries and upsetting thoughts.

I hope that it will work again for you.
I did used to sleep much better with some lights on, but not so much, recently.

@Medusa
I was planning on asking you, if they'd come back and plowed your street, but I see in your next post, that says they did.

That was quite a photo in that previous post of yours, the way they broke the street sign and left your road untended. SHeesh!

That's nice that your husband had some time off from work, and nothing horrid happened during that big storm.

It does feel like winter is making itself known, more than necessary, right, everyone?o_O ANd it isn't done, yet.😬🙁

But like you, @Lewkat
I do try to remind myself to be thankful and grateful, for each day.
Sometimes it's harder or easier to do than others.

@CallMeKate
I'm glad you reminded me, (and you put it in writing, making it seem more certain 😉😊)
that springtime will come (eventually😏)
And that tulips and daffodils, will come magically out of the soil!!!
Hurrayyyyyyyy!🥳🤩😎🥸☺️🥰🥰🥰

Today, the ground that the bulbs are under, is about 1 and 1/2 feet snow-covered.
But that will magically melt and disappear. (eventually, that is.😄☺️)

I'm trying to encourage myself and others, but am not at all sure, that I am succeeding.😊😁😄☺️

Good morning, everyone. Feeling a bit sad today, got news last night that my main doctor at the medical centre I go to has died after a short illness (cancer). It's a huge shock to the staff at the centre.... and to me and other patients too. Only a young man in his 40s and leaving behind a wife and 3 small children. :(

On a brighter not, @Kaila - regarding bulbs, I noticed that the bulbs I have in my back yard (all in tubs) are showing through. Some are about 1 inch while others are already about 4/5 inches! I think, but not sure, that those are the daffodils. It's been a fairly mild winter here.... so far... let's hope it remains that way!

Didn't sleep that well last night so feeling tired now, might try and have a nap later on.

Hoping you are all okay. 🥕🥕🥕 Catch up later.

Good Morning Kaila and friends,
I hope everyone is ok.
@Pam I am so sorry to hear about your loss. As we age, we see them more often and we depend on them. It is as they become a member of the family. It is very sad for his young family.
Please stay warm and safe everyone.
Here is Elliot to wish you a good day!

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends 🤗 :coffee: ❄️

@Kaila, I appreciate your encouragement and the reminders that spring will come. This isn't forever. 💐

@Rossana, Elliot looks so comfy. 🤗

@Pam, sorry about your sad news. :( Such a young person too. Yeesh.
--That was funny though, about the gull and the sausage. Something to make you smile a little.

@CallMeKate, thanks for the uplifting reminder. :)

I had a bit of a hard night last night and it's carried over into today, for whatever reason. I've decided to simply be kind to myself and let this pass, which it will.

Wishing everyone here a nice Wednesday afternoon. 🥕🥕🥕 Let's have coffee. We should have coffee, right? Of course we should. Duh. ;)
