Gentle posts for gentle folks

Kaila, the therapy pool is definitely different than anything that I know of around here. So happy for you.

We do have lots of fancy resorts. Too bad that my money from the depot returns won’t quite pay for one.
Could you get your husband to drink an extra V8, every day, until you save up enough, for a week at a resort, with meals and hydrotherapy, included?
😊😆😄😆🥰

Last night’ my husband had boiling water on the stove and accidentally poured the water out which landed on the tops of his feet. This accident left him with burnt tops of his feet. He put some fresh aloe Vera on his feet. We have a huge aloe Vera plant for just these types of injuries. It’s now blistered some but he managed to get a light soft pair of sockets on. What he can’t do is put any shoes on so our daily walk isn’t happening today. We will have to see how tomorrow goes. With the fresh aloe Vera plant gel, it’s healing quickly.
Wishing everyone a fabulous day. 🌞

Oh no! 😫 I know the pain of that very well... I did it many years ago... directly onto my hand from a boiling pot. ER trip, 2nd degree burns, and needed to have it wrapped. Painful memory! I hope the aloe vera will help him so that some of the pain will be lessened or at least shortened! @PeppermintPatty

Ooh, @PeppermintPatty - that must have hurt!! I hope his feet are not too badly burnt. Good that he applied the aloe vera on straight away. Hope it heals quickly so you can get back on your daily walks. Wish him all the best from me. 🤗
Thank you Pam. I extended your well wishes and my husband says ‘thank you.’ He says as soon as he put the fresh aloe Vera plant gel/pulp, it felt much better.

Sorry you went through this also. Your hand sounds much worse than his feet injury.
Thank you for your concern. It’s much appreciated!

Oh my, @PeppermintPatty
Very sorry about that boilling water spill on his feet. 😭

So glad you've got that plant, always at the ready!
It does speed healing. I had always kept a couple of those plants going, for years.
They finally peetered out, and i hadn't replaced them.

I've been sorry a few times, they weren't available for small burns.
Thanks for sharing with us.

I hope he'll heal quickly,
And
I will get a new starter aloe plant, as soon as I have the chance!

Thank you for the loving thoughts sent his way. He’s a pretty tough cookie and I know he’ll be fine. He’s already found a pain of rain boots he can wear that don’t hurt too much. They are flat rubber at the top of his feet. No tying laces!

We have a giant aloe Vera plant. It’s about 3 feet high and about 4 feet wide. We use it for a lot of things.

This is it here. It’s now growing baby aloes. lol.

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends. 🤗 :coffee: 🌷

Another wet day here, but the temp is nice enough. :) Two good walks with Lucius today and son will cover the next two. I'm catching up with you good people, watching Hulu, playing AC and hanging out with boyfriend.

Husband is off today and we'll catch some hockey or PBR later.

@Kaila, those are beautiful pictures and I'm so glad you posted them on the bird feeder thread. 🤗

@CallMeKate, so happy to learn that you are feeling some improvement!

@PeppermintPatty, yeesh, so sorry about what happened with your husband's feet! Ouch. :(

Believe it or not, I did exactly the same thing several months ago. I was soaking my feet and had a tea kettle of boiling water ready to add a little at a time. I had one foot out of the tub, but still hovering over it when I picked up the kettle. My brain just short-circuited or something because I went ahead and poured the water right onto my freaking foot!

I'm a fellow advocate for aloe Vera; it really does speed up healing. Please give your husband my best as well. Glad he found some shoes that will work while he's healing.

Let's have some afternoon coffee.
