Yes, in years gone by, after each ice storm, our bird feeders with those dome squirrel guards, did look exactly like that one. 😊☺️🤗
But not today!😆

and those black capped chickadee are very prevalent, here, as well. 🤩

@Pam, was your egg one of those large ones with the candies inside? They are so nice and not as easily accessible here; we lean more on the bunnies. I let boyfriend know that last Easter... and again this Easter... Maybe I should just say, "Hey, I'd really love one of those really cool, large Easter eggs with the candies inside." Men aren't great with hints, are they? :rolleyes:

How are you doing?
I got chocolate cream eggs, some turtles AND a solid Easter bunny. I didn’t give my husband hints. I just told him what I wanted and he got what I asked for. I love getting Easter eggs and bunnies. I’m very childish like that, obviously you are too. 😂

It was a surprise for me to see a pair of mallards, out my window, this afternoon.
Yes, in the snowfall and during the combination rain/ snow, that followed.

Perfect weather for our hearty northern ducks. 😁🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆

We used to get lots of them, some years ago but far fewer since the natural habitat was removed, next to the building. 😒😕

Therefore a surprising joy to see the pair, today!😀

I’m starting to get a bit jealous of your weather. Generally speaking I like the snow but lately I’m getting tired of it. I am trying to welcome spring but we still are getting snow mixed with freezing rain.

I love reading about Rocco. I’m glad you look after him well. We get rewarded by your stories.

We are still getting snow Marciks. It’s part of our spring weather. We don’t go from winter directly to summer.

We are closer to the North Pole than we were in Ontario but oddly enough we are in a zone 6 growing zone where when we lived in Ontario we were in a zone 5. We used to live in a snow and tornado belt so our weather was unpredictable at the best of times. Our winters are milder than they were in Ontario which is surprising cause we definitely ARE closer to the North Pole where we now live.

My son Danny came over yesterday and said he has bought me a 55" Samsung HD Television and had it in his car. He changed my loungeroom around so it could fit in. He joined all the cables up then switched it on. OMG the picture is terrific . I'm a bit slow when it comes to programming things in, so he will come over tomorrow after work and write all the directions to start it. The catch is, he wants me to make his favourite ❤️‍🔥 Kofta Curry with Yellow Rice and Poppadums. That's easy, no problems. Gee I'm a lucky Mum.
 
Good morning @Kaila and co. It's another bright sunny start to the day here. I've just finished washing and drying my hair so I look half decent now. Got a grocery delivery due between 11 and 12. Also an Amazon delivery but that will be afternoon. Always last on the delivery list due to location.

Late afternoon yesterday, youngest son and grandson came round. Grandson back in work today. Son has early finish today so he'll be coming here when he does.

@Kaila, you asked if Rocco and I got to the park yesterday... no, we didn't. He kept sitting down when I headed in that direction 😁 but was happy to walk around the streets so that's just what we did and I posted a card to my friend en route. Also stopped and chatted to an old friend which was nice. His dog died just before Christmas and he feels lost without her. Unfortunately, I don't think he's capable now of taking on another one which I do understand. I am fortunate in having Rocco during the day without having the responsibility of taking him to the vets/groomers etc. which I'd find difficult now I no longer have a car.

Now, @Kaila, you also asked about mallards. Yes, they are resident and therefore plentiful all the year round in the UK.

Pleased you enjoy reading about Rocco @PeppermintPatty, he is a sweetheart and good company for me. I love having a dog about the house.

An update... my grocery delivery was early so I decided to attempt to take Rocco to the park. It was a bit of a battle, he didn't want to walk that direction but I won. :ROFLMAO: It's only a few minutes walk and once we got there he was absolutely fine, walked for an hour around the park no problem. I managed to take some photos, not brilliant but the best I could do.

We were just coming out of the park when there was a loud flapping of wings and a lot of noise. Then I saw that one of the greylag geese was trying to get at the mallard ducklings but mum and dad did a fine job of chasing the goose away, thank goodness!

@PeppermintPatty, sounds like you got lots of fun chocolate. 🤗 I ended up with three bunnies: one solid chocolate, one chocolate with caramel filling and one chocolate with peanut butter filling. We were going to get some Cadbury eggs, but the two stores we tried were out.

---Yep, I am childlike when it comes to holidays... and pretty much everything else. ;)

Ima finish catching up on what everyone is doing today. 🥕🥕🥕

Hi Kate, Kofta curry is curried meatballs, and I always put Turmeric into the rice whilst it's cooking and add fried onions after I drain the rice. Poppadums are small, dried Lentil wafers fried in hot oil and expand to large wafers. You can buy them in any grocery store. If you're ever over my way, do drop in and I'd love to make some for you.
