Gentle posts for gentle folks

Spring has seemed to arrive here abouts, quite suddenly, this very week.

It was decidedly bleak and chilly, well into April and up until just a few days ago.

And though all of the tree branches are still totally bare (except those everloving evergreens , of courseπŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜)

The brown mud and ground are now broken up in spots, by tufts of green blades of grass, and sprouts from bulbs of many varieties!

Only the crocus and earliest species of daffodils are in bloom, so far ,
but some of the perennials are beginning to break ground as well.

During this season, a lot changes, every couple of days!!!

Blink twice, and you'll have missed these springtime shifts, altogether.

@Pam
How many days per week does grandson work that 12 hour shift?πŸ€”
Is that a common or usual work schedule there?

He works on nuclear submarines in the shipyard and I think those shifts are common in that and the engineering discipline there. Not for office workers though, that would probably be a 9-5 job. His working day/pattern alters but I'm not sure how often. Recently he worked 5 or was it 6 days (can't remember) and is currently off for 3 days. He will go back on Sunday. I think I've got that correct.

He could have done an apprenticeship as a plant electrician, general electrical work around the shipyard, but he chose the advanced electrical submarine apprenticeship which is the actual installing and maintaining of electrical systems on nuclear submarines.

Good morning @Kaila and all.

Good to have you back, @CallMeKate:)

Rocco is fast asleep at the moment, having just eaten his breakfast so I'll leave it a little while before attempting to take him for a walk. I'll get on with a bit of cross stitch while he's quiet. At this rate I should get it finished for my son's birthday. Thank goodness it's not until Autumn. ;)

Hope you managed a chilled out night @MarciKS :)

Wishing you all a good day. πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

Thank you for that reply above,
@Pam
I found the entire explanation ,β€Šveryinteresting!🀩πŸ₯°

Good morning to all of you, this Friday morning!πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

I'm getting ready to go out, for an intense talk therapy session, this morning. Yikes. πŸ™„πŸ˜
Not fun, but hopefully helps, in its own way.

It's rainy out, and gray and rather dreary weather....
But the bluebird couple, and goldfinches, on the feeder, are urging me forward. :giggle:
They are such fascinating creatures.

Good morning, Kaila & Friends... or "K-Fam" as @MarciKS says... I like that! Looks as if I'll be seeing a beautiful Saturday here. It was a little strange when I was traveling because it got up to 92 and that's more like July than mid April!

I'm doing grocery shopping this morning... anyone need anything? :giggle: Focusing more on what I call "healthy junk" recently and that would be protein. I feed my macros into AI every night and I'm tired of that bucket-o-bolts telling me my calories are dangerously low for my age and I'm not getting nearly enough protein. Well la la! But I'm trying.

Now if Hawkie would serve one of his famous sausage gravy breakfasts and Kaila would host a salmon fry for supper, AI wouldn't yell at me tonight. Hint hint! 🀭 @hawkdon

Okay, I'm off to start my day... did @Medusa mention taking some time off? I miss her and I'm not caught up with forum posts yet since I returned, so I haven't seen any mention of it.

Good morning all. If I known earlier that you were going shopping, I'd have given you a list @CallMeKate πŸ˜‰ I too have been shopping at nearby Aldi, a few bits of grocery shopping but also bought a small plant trough and a campanula (bellflower) plant which is now planted and, fingers crossed, should produce some nice flowers in the summer.

Hope your talk therapy went well @Kaila πŸ«‚ I agree with what you say about watching the birds, I had a google and learnt thatthe UK and USA goldfinches are two different species, just share the same name. Similar to the robin then.

Now it's time to settle down in front of the tv and watch the World Snooker Championship which started today. :)

Grandson coming round later on today so that's something nice to look forward to.

Good morning Saturday Kaila & friends
It’s a lovely morning so far
Not a cloud in the sky
@Medusa was off yesterday for the whole day. I hope she is ok.

I’m up earlier today. I’ve been sleeping later and getting up later, going for a walk later which I don’t like. I hate not being able to sleep at night., it’s spooky..

Happy Saturday morning

I have been feeling a bit eh, drawn inward lately, which is not unusual, really; it happens and I come back around, eventually.
I'm noting that in case I post less here and there so you guys don't worry, because you're awesome like that. πŸ₯°
Yeah, thought so... here it is, @PeppermintPatty ... she *did* tell us it could happen, so I'll stop worrying. She's gonna pinch me when she finds out I clattered the alarm. 🀫

Hello to my Kfam
πŸ˜„πŸ˜πŸ˜ŠπŸ₯°
And to my friends!πŸ˜€β˜ΊοΈ

It's wonderful to see all the posts, here,
and each one of the pictures and likes, and updates,
and carings and sharings! πŸ€—

It's been a busy day. I managed to do 1 short errand, mainly to buy πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•.
Truly, that was the goal. πŸ˜€

And goal was accomplished.
πŸ˜„πŸ€©

A while later, we both went outdoors, and did a bit of glorious puttering, in our flower bed!
I'm very thankful that we both could do it.
Our current version of how to do it.
It's something we both love, and that we could do any of it, in any way, made me feel joy.

We ate and will go for napping, now.

My warm wishes for each one of you, today!

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends. πŸ€— :coffee: 🌷

I've missed you guys. πŸ₯°

I've just come back in from my second Lucius walk; it's warm out there. πŸ₯΅

This morning, husband and I were pleased to see a different bird at the feeder. :) I'll put his video up on the feeder thread later. AND we had a mating pair of ducks in our yard! So cool! Husband is thinking it might be the peanuts in the new seed that the other birds are not eating. Or maybe the little table-top fountain he put up. Anyway, it's nice to see them here and I want to find something to feed them should they come back.

@CallMeKate, aw man, I miss you too. ☺️ No pinching! πŸ˜… You guys are so lovely and caring. I appreciate you Kate, Patty, Kaila and everyone.

@Pam, hope today's Snooker is a fun watch for you. :)
--Interesting job your grandson has! I agree about our young people.

@Kaila, hope you had a good talk therapy session. I've had a lot of talk therapy through the years and it can be very helpful. Glad you got your goal accomplished. -- Have a nice nap. ☺️
--That woodpecker is gorgeous!

@PeppermintPatty, your daffodils are pretty. ☺️

Glad to be back amongst you fabulous peeps on this, my fave thread, and wishing everyone a nice Saturday afternoon. πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

I love sharing time here with my friends...πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°
However, those dresses are not really my style, especially with those doilies on our heads!πŸ˜Šβ˜ΊοΈπŸ€©πŸ˜„πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
