Gentle posts for gentle folks

I'll share my chocolate with all of you.
Oh, I am always up for chocolate! Nice of you to share, Rossana. 🤗

--Well, boyfriend and I didn't get to watch, Megan 2.0, because he doesn't actually have it on Netflix. He thought he did, but no. So we tried a movie called, Firebreak. Ugh, 30 minutes in we gave it up and ended up watching a 30 minute episode of a mini series about alien abductions. That wasn't great either, but we were kind of over the whole thing by then. 😅

Now he's hanging out with me until I need to go, make my dinner, walk the beast and settle in for a night of hockey with husband. Woot! The playoffs are so much fun! 🏒

Sorry for sports chatter again, everyone. (especially @Kaila because this is your diary thread and not my hockey thread.) Hockey season gets to me, deep.
😅

Edit: typo

The pool therapy session was actually too difficult for me, today. 😭😖 which was discouraging. 😕

Then in addition;
Just as i was getting out of the water, their building fire alarms went off. 😳 😒😵‍💫

We had to evacuate.... wait... what?
It was Very cold out, and I was dripping wet, head to toe...😫

Not a good day, for me.

Oh, Kaila, that sounds miserable. :( I'm sorry that happened.
You should maybe spend the rest of this day bundled up with blankets and cookies. 🤗 Sheesh. Some days. :/

What happened? Did you go outside?

It is scary when the fire alarm goes off here. Thank goodness I have never had to evacuate. I always wonder what to do if it goes off and I am in the shower. Not going out naked that is for sure!

Yes, I needed to be herded outdoors as quickly as possible, which was extremely difficult, despite there was no fire. 😫

Just towels wrapped around me in my dripping suit.

I'm definitely not over it.
I was already physically and emotionally overdone, as the difficult session was just that moment, finishing.

😬🥺
Did I say, this was a very poor day?🙄

Sorry you had a difficult time @Kaila at pool therapy and then the fire alarm going off!!:( I hope you managed to get some rest and are feeling a little better today. 🫂

It's another nice sunny morning here but spoilt by a coolish breeze. Had a walk around the streets with Rocco then put some washing on. That's me done for now. Son will be coming round in a couple of hours - early finish today - so we'll have something to eat together. Not sure what but but I'll sort something out. Can't you tell that cooking is not my favourite thing:ROFLMAO:.

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends. 🤗 :coffee: 🌷

It's a good day, I'm happy to relay. :) The weather is nice and the day is unfolding in the usual way. (Did anyone else think of the "Cat's in the Cradle" song?)

Husband is working closing shifts today and tomorrow, which interrupts our hockey playoffs watching schedule. :/ (Talk about first world problems. 😅 )

@Kaila, I hope you were able to warm up (down to the bone kind of warm), got some good rest last night and are feeling a bit better today. 🤗

Wishing everyone a peaceful Wednesday afternoon. 🥕🥕🥕

To Kaila and friends
It’s a cool but bright sunny day today.
It’s only 2 degrees Celsius but we went for a good walk.

Last night my father in law rolled out of bed and fell on the floor, splitting to his open. This happened at the nursing home so they called the ambulance. He had stitches and was brought back by my brother in law who lives only 5 miles away. He now has railings on his bed to prevent him from falling out.

I hope you warmed up from yesterday’s fire drill @Kaila. Did you have a lovely bedtime?

Anyway,…. It is Wednesday and I hope you ALL have a lovely day today. Here’s a cup of coffee for you all.

Patty, I meant to mention on your "Nice Walk" thread that I'm sorry to learn of your father-in-law's accident. :/ Yeesh, evening sleeping gets hazardous as we age.

Thanks Medusa. It’s his second time going into the hospital. The first time his blood pressure was 275 over something.
Luckily he really likes the nursng home..
He’s playing darts, walking the halls and stopping to talk to everyone he meets..He says he’s met at least 80% of the people there. He sings with the church group when they come by.

I’m really glad he’s enjoying his new place of residence. He was supposed to get his own room but he’s liking his roommate so will probably stay where he is. They serve 3 meals a day and 3 snacks. He says he enjoys the food. Most of it is homemade. His room has s cleaned daily including washing the floor. They change the bedsheets weekly and do his laundry. All he has to do is have fun. Anyway he’s doing well. He just got some stitches. He’ll be fine. Thanks for your concern.

That's really good news. I can see why you'd be happy for him and relieved he's safe and in a place he's enjoying.

I was going to say how sorry I am that he fell, and of course i still am sorry that happened.
But I'm very glad to read those positives about that nursing home for him. That's wonderful!

Hello to all of you,
Today I was still hurting and overly worn out, from the total of yesterday's aquatic physical therapy session, plus their fire alarm building evacuation, while I was wet and cold there.

It was therefore, very exhausting, to do the tasks at home, today, that had to be done. Whew!

I'm thinking of each one of you!🥰🤩🥰🤩🥰

Thinking about fire alarms, a while back the alarms were going off in a huge grocery store. This can happen when someone walks out a fire exit. Everyone is supposed to evacuate and not go back in until the firemen declare it safe.

I guess money talks because those alarms in the grocery store went for at least 20 minutes and no one left when the fire department declared it was safe. Heck, they were even letting people go in. DH was outside and said they didn’t know how to turn it off.

Sometimes logic would be better. They could have let you at least shelter in the foyer. Being chilled, especially when you’re not feeling great is a bigger liability.

Wishing you a better Thursday.

Good morning @Kaila and all. It's another bright sunny day here. My friend is coming round this morning for coffee and chat, looking forward to that. Son and grandson came round yesterday and my son dusted the places I can't reach. :ROFLMAO:

@PeppermintPatty - sorry to hear about your father in law. :( Pleased to hear that he now has railings on his bed to prevent any further falls. When I had my hip replacement I slept too near to the edge of my bed and one night I rolled over and fell out of bed. I was fine but I did worry that it might it happen again and dislodge/damage my new hip. I ordered a small bed assist rail and it has been a godsend. I still keep it in place as I have scoliosis too and sometimes when I wake up my back is stiff. It also has a little pocket in which I keep my book/ phone etc.

Sounds as though he is happy there though which is great to hear. 🫂

I'm getting off now, going to wash the pots then my hair and make myself look reasonably presentable before my friend gets here. 👩‍🦱
