The futuristic cartoon The Jetsons debuted in 1962, and was set 100 years in the future. During a season 1 episode airing on July 31st, family patriarch George Jetson celebrated his 40th birthday, meaning that the character was born on July 31st, 2022!

This means that some of us may live to see early development of the flying cars and robotic servants routinely depicted on the show. It’s time, after all, or soon will be as George grows up!

Cool bit of trivia Fyrefox. My grandson "predicted" there'd be flying cars 29 years ago when he was just a little boy about 3 years old. He had a thing for cars back then. AI is becoming more sophisticated by the minute and there are robots that are already capable of performing basic functions. Our local hospital uses a robot who I've seen cruising through the halls. I think it collects charts or something, there are sex bots and of course, the first ever robot citizen Sophia who was granted citizenship by Saudi Arabia and has spoken at conferences and appeared on The Tonight Show. We might live to see robot servants indeed.

And here's a video featuring flying cars. They require a pilots license.

My father worked for Otis Elevator, and they did design and install some “people movers” which is what the moving footpaths were called at that time. They never really caught on big time, although I’ve been on a few at places like Disney World.

As for flying cars, I’ve heard that bigger drones capable of transporting a person may soon be a thing. If they are remotely piloted, I’m not sure I’d be crazy about the idea! 🙀

I would be satisfied with a little help from a friendly robot...where is that!? o_O
