Getting into the swing of things for Easter >>>

The world is coming to nothing. If you offer people something for nothing you shouldn't be surprised if they take advantage of it.

Good grief, I think it's todays culture of mine mine me me. You teach your kid's manners. In a civilized egg hunt it's fun, you gather eggs, help the wee ones gather them too. We went to only one township egg hunt years ago and it was ridiculous. Safer to have it for a small group in your own yard.

This is standard behavior for anything that happens around here like Easter egg hunts or Christmas/Start of School give-aways. The parents stampede, people grab everything in sight and take off. Punches are thrown. So far, nobody has been shot but it'll happen, you bet.

About 30 years ago or so, they had a "marshmallow drop" at the local fairgrounds......a zillion marshmallows were dropped from a helicopter over the crowd. The cops had to wade in and break up the fights. Fighting for what, you might ask......a marshmallow that's been stomped all over? Yuk.

After this, I imagine that most organizations are going to by-pass this kind of activity in the future. I don't think there's anyway to control a crowd of that size.

I never was involved with an Easter egg hunt, even as a kid. I'm really shocked that the parents are even allowed to "find" any eggs, thought this was for kids. Also, maybe the young ones should be in a separate area of their own so as not to be trampled by the older kids. Those parents are disgusting, they need to take a chill pill at least, their kids will likely be just like them when they grow up, how sad. You think there were $100 bills in those eggs.

I wish churches would stop having Easter egg hunts. Eggs have nothing at all to do with Easter, least of all at a church.

I think it depends on if you've had little ones. Of course egg hunts are a fun tradition, but like I said they need to be private and small scale. Letting five or six kids of similar age find eggs in your yard is cute. A whole flock of adults and mixed age kids is asking for chaos.

I am disgusted by the behavior of those parents. Do they realize (or care) what they are teaching their children? And we wonder why we have bullying and violence in schools? They're learning it from their parents.
