Getting more medication again.

I know as we age and our health changes some of us need a lot of medication, and sometimes permanently. Right now I taking nine daily medications. I am going to start looking for a few natural alternatives .

How many people feel they are over medicated?

I was overmedicated for nearly 20 years for depression that—in my opinion, at least—was more due to external factors than to internal physiology. I tapered myself off Lexapro 18 months ago and have been doing fine. Right now all I take is a daily OTC multivitamin and a vitamin D supplement.

Lexapro is a devilish poison! I woke up steam ironing my hand. That was the end of medications for me.

I am not a Doctor and if you read my posts not an educated man nor that bright lol but I have had serious results / luck taking Collagen and MSM granules for what WAS once bad right hip arthritis . I used to think natural things were hocus pocus and yes plenty of scams / fake reviews out there .

Either way some things do work granted what works for one might not for the other .

I grow a lot of stuff in my yard , sadly iguanas / birds take their share but attribute better health to eating not just vegetables but herbs like parsley which eat a lot of .

You can grow plenty of herbs in your house if no yard or winter with cheap white led lights in any container / empty fish tank , etc .

My father loved to cook and used herbs alot mostly parsley .

However this for me was a lie , lol ---

''Parsley Helps Prevent Hair Loss

Concerned about hair loss? You're not alone. The American Hair Loss Association reports that Americans spend over $3 billion annually on hair loss prevention. Despite this sizable investment, effective treatments remain limited. However, studies suggest that parsley oil, when applied to the scalp, may significantly reduce hair loss.''

This I do agree with as my vision is now great and not so great few yrs ago , I'm 73 in April . ---

Protect Eye Health

Our diet significantly impacts eye health, with certain foods playing a crucial role. Parsley, rich in vitamin A, also provides essential antioxidants such as pro-vitamin carotenoid and beta-carotene. Dr. Axe highlights these antioxidants for their protective benefits on the retina and cornea, particularly against age-related damage like macular degeneration and cataracts. Carolina Guizar, MS, RDN, CDN, notes in Reader’s Digest that plant-based sources of vitamin A, like parsley, are integral for maintaining optimal eye health, preventing conditions such as dryness, night blindness, and cataracts.

The Incredible Health Benefits of Parsley

I use parsley as an example only as eat a lot of it daily since grows so fast m easy and iguanas unlike my tomatoes leave it alone .

I’m not sure that the number of medications matter as much as the number of things being treated.

I take nine different prescription drugs plus two different vitamins and an aspirin.

The majority of my prescriptions are TNT generics that are used to treat high blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes.

I do believe that there can be some value to working with a PCP to review prescriptions to be sure that none of them are working at cross purposes with each other.

The good news is that so far my handful of pills morning and night along with my injectables have kept me out of the emergency room.

I take 11 meds. I'm a diabetic, with a heart condition, high blood pressure and in chronic pain. I could take advice from a guy on the net, who claims taking a goop made from the sweat of the little known bongo-bongo clams will cure me of everything. Then there's Aunt Ethel, who claims eating 6 pounds of onions/day cures diabetes. Or I could take the advice of someone with 12 years of medical education, a license, and a multi-billion dollar drug research industry behind him. Both can make mistakes, but which do you think you'll have the best results?
I was a Reg. Nurse, and I couldn't believe some of the strange home remedies people took.
