Ghislaine Maxwell says jail is ‘fit for Hannibal Lecter’

Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite charged with helping the late financier Jeffrey Epstein traffic underage girls for sex, has claimed in court that her treatment in jail is so bad it would be “fit for Hannibal Lecter”.

Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend and close associate, is awaiting trial in July on eight charges, including sex trafficking and perjury, and is being held in the Metropolitan Detention Centre in New York, having had three bail requests rejected.

In an attempt to overturn the most recent rejection, her lawyers claimed her prison conditions are worse than those of convicted sex offenders Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein and mob boss John Gotti, who were all given bail.

I'm sure she's housed in the PC(protective custody) unit there, being a high profile inmate charged with sex crimes. She might even be in a single cell, having privacy, meals delivered by uniformed staff making $100K+/yr.
TV, phone privileges, commissary, exercise yard, not too bad really. Excellent medical care, life in prison is the way to go, if you're down on your luck, with no family or assets.

Not sure where you are but around here there certainly not any corrections officers making anywhere near $100,00 a year.

I don't believe that the sins of the father should be visited on the child. But it's worth pointing out that her father committed suicide after looting the pension funds of the companies he ran. He was a total charlatan and con artist.
