Giant Wombat Fossil Found

Maybe they used to eat those giant earthworms.

They've found 10ft tall roos from back then too. Funny coincidence the Megafauna started on the road to extinction at around the time the Kooris arrived here eh? That's about the time the inland turned into desert too. They used to camp around Lake Mungo and vast middens of shells from their old camps are still there but the lake is long gone.
It's up for argument if the climate changed or if their constant burning off as a hunting technique killed off too much vegetation and took it past recovery.

Ours is not the first generation of humans that have damaged the planet and sent species extinct. They're not the saintly 'land carers' venerated by the environmentally obsessed.

... but I digress as usual... nice fossil.
