Thank you for the images. I have fond memories of the station. At one time, I pulled into the station from a single track branch line to visit the Potstill on Hope Street. However, to get back, I had to figure out which of the many tracks went back to my station.

Thank you -Oy-.... I've been watching the roving youtube reporter since it happened giving us updates every day,,,

Horrible thing to happen.. and the way the fire happened is indictive of the way the country is descending.. to allow a Vape shop in that hisotical buidling next door.. where doubtless fake batteries caused the fire... is just heartbreaking

I have loved this station since I was old enough to know what a train was... in fact when we were teenagers, we used to hang around there at night at weekends as a gang... because it was warm, it was lovely... it was lively... and we spent what money we had getting B&W photos taken in the photo booths...

....I was just 17 in this photo....we'd also arrange to meet friends under the famous clock... such great memories..

I don't know if you know but the huge bridge in the last picture where all the shops are is called the ''heilanman's Umbrella '' (Highland man's umbrella ( for non Brits)

Thannk goodness they've worked so hard to get the station and up and running again... while the work is ongoing.... thank you for those photos... I'm savng them to my personal album...

It looks to me that Glasgow Central and Sydney Central might have been built at about the same time. If it wasn't, I'd say that Sydney Central was influenced Glasgow.

A bit of researching and I can see that Glasgow was built much earlier (1879). Sydney Central was opened in 1906.
