I can't remember what I had in secondary school, but in junior school, because I'm left handed, I always sat on the left of one that looked like no. 1. However, the ink wells were always placed to the right on both sides of the desk, so I'd have to reach over with my left hand to fill my pen from the well on my right. This meant that I got accused of cheating on all my tests, as the teacher thought I was looking at my desk buddy's answers every time I refilled my pen. Grrrrrr! That's one reason I left school at the earliest opportunity. I hated being called a cheat when I knew that I wasn't one.
