I couldn't believe this story on the front page of my hometown paper,Buffalo News today
Kristin Sommer who lives in Hamburg,NY{south of Buffalo} couldn't find any local vaccine appts,so she is driving to Potsdam,NY on Feb 27th to get her 1st vaccine shot, her appt is for 9am.Potsdam is 300 miles away round trip is 600
Her mother who is 65 also will be going to Potsdam, her appt is for the following weekend.
If all goes well, they will get their 2nd shots in March
If it were me I would not do this, but wait until local pharmacys e.g. Walgreens,CVS,Rite Aid were advertising for taking appts, everybody is different,I find this a bit extreme

I had a meeting with a co-worker just the other day ..........he had been searching for a whole state for appointments for an elderly relative even though they NEVER asked him to.......
he tried to get this person to drive over an hour each way and came up with a story about this person working in that county as a reason to get the shot there.... he was furious when the person told him "no thanks i will wait" ....... some people are just going overboard IMO for this.

I'm getting the impression that in America, you are responsible for making your own appointments for the vaccine? Here in Britain, we are being harassed to get it done. I received one letter from the hospital...then a few days later, one from my doctor...then two phone calls...and now I've just received a leaflet.
