We are planning a trip to Alaska in June of 2023 from AZ. She is 74 & i 'm 75. We want to go land trips as well. 2-3 week trip to see what Alaska has to see? Should we FLY FROM,PHOENIX & should we fly to Washington State or Canada by plane? Do we want to then fly to Alaska or take a cruise? Which is best cruise for inside passage? Best mode in & around Al- Drive ride - a bus or train? Still planning the trip & looking forward to comments from you all.

Never done a cruise but have flown into Anchorage and rented an RV a couple of times. In Alaska, motels are few, far between, and expensive, the RV was a great way to do it. Lower cost and a lot more flexibility than a rental car and booking and paying for rooms.

Kind of depends on what you want to see, Alaska is a big place, 2 to 3 weeks will be nice, but not long enough to see everything.

Have fun!

A few years back the hubby and I went cross country by car from New Jersey and then took a cruise to Alaska.
I was bored to death on the cruise. Never again.
I'm not a people person so that didn't help. Ports we stopped in were so over priced and crowded.
Food was so so. We don't drink and night life doesn't interest us.
The best part of the trip was on land not the water.
