Just read this, "Meantime, doctors are urging patients to continue to seek care for nonvirus- related issues. They say they’re concerned about a drop in the number of patients who seek help for other ailments, and fear people are putting their health on hold during the pandemic." When we read the media we might come to the conclusion that doctors are busy 24/7 & we better not bother them with our usual senior aches & pains. According to the article we should not stop seeing your doctor if you have a problem. You health is very important but of course, as seniors most of us know this. Right?

My Husband needs gall bladder surgery and he has been having video chats with the surgeon to see when it would be safe to have it since my Husband because of other medical conditions would have to stay overnight in the Hospital. His staying overnight in the hospital scares me.

My wife got a call from her doctor to check up on her and see how she was doing. He told her he was only seeing about two patients a day in his office. I think I would have to be hurting pretty bad to make an appointment right now.

Luckily, our local clinic is still seeing patients....only one case of this virus in our county....so far. I have an appt. early next Monday for my annual checkups. They are seeing people with no symptoms from 8:30 to 10, and then anyone with a pre-existing condition after that.

Yes, doctors are very concerned about a smaller patient load - which means less billing.

Hospitals are starting to "cry" for a govt. bailout with this virus epidemic. I guess large numbers of their emergency patients are those with little or no insurance. IF/when this CV-19 crisis begins to slow down, and these hospitals start doing elective procedures again, they will probably pad their charges even more.
