anyone read Hendrik Groen's book..... 83 and a quarter, about life in a nursing home in Europe, sad funny and very interesting. I would recommend it to our reading folks. I just started the sequel On the Bright side.

Some how I missed your post, back in 2019! I wish there were some way to get alerts for certain topics.

My sister has been raving about this book lately. I worked as an au pair - YEARS ago - in The Hague and I speak a little Dutch. These are in English but refer to a lot of Dutch culture and words. I found two other books about him at ERHamilton's (online) and am waiting for Book One (that you mentioned above) to arrive from Amazon. The reviews make them all sound wonderful. Can't wait to get started!!

Thank you for posting about these two books. I want to read them too.

The titles I've found - in order:
The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen 83-1/4 years old
On the Bright Side the NEW Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen at 85
Excited to the finish line: The last secret diary of Hendrik Groen, 90 years old
(not sure this one is translated yet - something to look forward to!)
Two Men and a Baby (Hendrik and his friend Evert)
