Good marriages make time pass too quickly!

Hello,

Somehow I got old. I am 63, I still work, but I am getting tired of it, but I will always be "fidgety" so don't want to sit in a rocker just yet. I Will probably retire when I am 66, when I sign up for SSI and Medicare.

Anybody older than me is wiser than me, we only do the retirement change once in life, and I don't have a clue. I don't have medical problems to speak of, and I think most of the brain is still there!

Anyway, looking for some guidance. If there is any good place to start on this Form, please direct me there.

Thank you

Saltare

Hello, and welcome. You will find as you explore the forums, you will find answers to many questions/concerns you have. If you find you still have specific questions, find an appropriate sub forum and ask away.
That being said, let me speak to what you have asked. I am the same age as you are, and while I had PLANNED to wait until 66, I ended up retiring last November, due to disability issues. What you may want to do now, is start planning how you want to spend your time when you ARE retired. Volunteering is good. As are senior or church groups.
I think you are also wondering about retiring now. Check with ssa.gov to determine what your monthly allotment will be if you retire now. Then ask yourself, "Can I live on that?" Remember, you are able to work part time to supliment your SS income.
