The rain, a rarity in Southern California with its desert climate, just moved out after giving us 4/10 of an inch.
It's miserable outside. The pups don't like it and rather snuggle on to me to get a treat. Even our nuisance
gopher-in-residence merely stuck out his head and then quickly went again underground.

Yes the whole country is having bad weather. Looks like you get out a good deal of the time and that's pretty good

In 2021, I obtains 4 egg-laying chickens from a chicken farm for free. The gave us so many eggs that we gave many away to neighbors. But egg-laying hens live only 2-3 years. They last one died in May 2023. So my wife bought two new baby chicks the following month, but one turned out to be a rooster. Today we found the first three eggs from the hen, hidden in the chicken coop.
