Goodmorning all. 😊

I'm just off out into the garden with big mug of tea and a few slices of hot buttered toast.
I'll more than likely be surrounded by the creatures that live out here as soon as I park my backside. 😊

Enjoy this fine day, folks, and don't forget to smile. 😊

Good Morning! Wishing you all a wonderful day.

What a crazy morning here. I opened an email from a distant relative that was contacted by a researcher that has researched the history of the original Black people in America. This relative, found their ancestors once thought as being Freedman or freed African slaves, that were taken in by the Choctaw, as false.

Now documented research shows that there were Black people in the Choctaw tribe of Mississippi, long before any African slaves were brought to America. They looked African American. It is unknown how they got to American or when, but they have been here for thousands of years.

I always thought that the relative that contacted me this morning, had a descendant that had married one of African descent. This is now known to be false and the reason they are much darker with facial features resembling African, is they never married into European blood.

What I found so interesting was blood test show they are no relation to African Americans, at least not for tens of thousands of years. I feel a bit strange this morning, because for many years, I thought the Black Choctaw were from Freedmen or African descent. Goes to show we are never too old to learn. This also brings to a close many years of research into my ancestry. This was the puzzling link. Why do the descendants of one Choctaw Great Great Aunt look African. Now, I know.
