Good morning, day, afternoon evening, night, happy whatever etc. #6-New !

On March 3, 2021, I obtained four egg-laying chickens from a large chicken farm for free. They gave us so many eggs that we gave them away. But they live only about three years, and the last one died on April 13, 2023, RIP. I had enough. The chicken coop was $300, and the chicken food and scratch made the eggs far more expensive than buying them in the store. But my wife wanted more pets. On June 9 this year, she bought two more baby chicks from a pet store. However, one just started crowing, LOL (meaning, we won't obtain that many eggs.) Because of coyotes jumping the fence and hawks nesting in our large Eucalyptus trees, we cannot let the chickens run around free in our garden.

I'm a bird lover but never had chickens. I'm amazed at all the colors they come in. Thanks for sharing 😊
