Good Standing and Good Record

You can call me BTC. I would like to start this thread by saying I'm sure we've all accomplished
something in our life. Sometimes we might call this a good standing or record among other words.
It has to do with something we've accomplished and it makes us feel good.

The very good thing about this thread is that you are the only one that can consider is a good standing or record
to what you have done.
Making a good standing or record doesn't mean that you have to break anyone else's record.
It also doesn't mean that you had to break your own record either.
It just means that you had figured what you were able to do.

Here are some examples: You can say I used to jog 1 mile around the track. Now I'm able to do 5.
You can say I have tons of baseball cards in the closet. I means tons of cards.
You can say I was the buffet and I beat my record and had 5 plates of food.
You can say for good stand that I've gotten tickets or had no accidents in driving.
You can also say that there was a Bruce Willis marathon over the weekend and I saw them because I taped them.
Or last I got to work on time each day this year.

Let me give you 3 things I've done.
When I was growing up sometimes I tried to stay up all night.
I think though back then I was only able to do 29 hours when I was in my teens.
However in my early 30's and don't know the reason I tried again to see how how long I was able to stay up.
This time I woke up one morning to the next day until 7pm that night breaking my record to 34 hours.

Next I was playing this video game named Gyrus back in the 80's. I had gotten so at this game that a friend named Mario and his
friend (which were the beat break dancers at the skating rink) were playing as doubles.
Mario had went to skate and came back to find out if I was done with my turn on Gyrus. Sometimes my spaceship wasn't killed yet.
I had flipped the whole game back to zero and went beyond that. The game is about going through the solar system until you reach Earth.
You need to stop the spaceships and there are fun bonus rounds in between. It's sort of like the game Galaga which is more popular.

In junior high I started lifting weights. My sisters boyfriend Steve had gotten me into this.
By the end of high school I was able to bench 245lbs. I mean 1 rep.
A couple of yrs. later I did 265 lbs. benching lift. It wasn't official until 2001 I made it to 275lbs.
The next week was like a wrestling match and I barely made it to 295lbs. It took 4 -5 to get to 300lbs.
A little later I got to 3 45plates which is 315lbs. After that I made it to 325lbs.
But it wasn't until 5 yrs later in the basement I did 335lbs 2 reps. I actually did this on an old cheap bench that had
the old cement weights. I was using my iron weights on that bench.
This is the smaller bar and not the Olympic. That means the smaller bar bends more with all that weight.
So when you to the gym and use the Olympic bar you'll be able to actually lift 20 more pounds.
So my lift at the gym would have been 355lbs. That was highest I ever got.

Ok you see how this is done. Choose anything in your life that you consider was a good standing or record that made you feel good.
There's no competition here. It's all in fun.

Two years ago I made and contributed 20 dolls and teddy bears to the women's shelter. Mind you each comes with three complete fancy schmancy outfits for a total of 60 outfits to make 20 kids happy......a labour of love for me. This year I am trying for 24

p.s. they even come with a diaper and a change :D

I am not in good standing with the parallel bar association. I do not distribute happiness or peace of mind to people around me. I am opinionated but seldom do I speak my mind.

As far as accomplishments I have nil because what’s the use of making people happy?

You know I am messing with you?

I have taken perfectly good wood
and turned it into a rather large pile of kindling
Didn't really take all that long.....maybe ten minutes

Today, I'll try to break that record
That's what i spent yesterday morning doing, then bringing it and actual logs into the house. The wood i've been getting for the last year is well seasoned--the provider lives even further out in boonies than i do and stockpiles it. So it splits into kindling vey easy.

Well right about now is the 40th. year of my sobriety, also 40 years since I have been arrested.lol

I retired at 57 which was sweet.

I have lifted weights since young, last winter a friend asked "how much weight?". I kept track the next heavy leg day, over 70,000 pounds in an hour of lifting. That's darn good for a broken down 62 year old man.

Hi @Paco Dennis

Thanks for the kind words. And no, I've never taken musical lessons of any sort...self taught. I have a new track coming out once my producer buddy gets back to me. I'm quite excited about it and I'll post the tune on this forum when it's ready to go. :)
