Good for you and I'm not worried about it either...I shut my location off on my phone.
 

I shut my phone location off a few hours ago and I just went to the store. I checked on google if they'd seen that I was at the grocery store again and they didn't know it! They said I'd been there 3 weeks ago--the dummies :LOL:
 
I actually read the terms of service for a pharmacy store card. Talk about tedious reading! But buried in it were provisions. that by using the service, I gave the pharmacy the right to sell my information to any third party .Do you have any idea the wealth of information a pharmacy has about you?
Your doctors, your medical history, your medications, your buying habits, credit card info, and things as weird as the times you pick up your scripts. Anybody can walk in, plop some cash on the counter, and walk out with everything about you. Unfortunately, living in the 21st Century, when we gladly wave our right away , there is almost nothing that can't be ascertained with a few clicks, and some cash.

If I put my name into google , nothing shows up.

Most Smartphones are now made solid state, so the battery cannot be removed or replaced. If it dies, you need a new phone. Google and these phone manufacturers keep a close eye on all of us. Why, I'll never know.

If and when that happens, I'll go back to a flip phone without data (not an issue at this stage of the game). Right now the battery is replacable/removable I hate phones anyway.
 
Ruthanne, Scary! I think there's a way to stop Google from tracking you while leaving your GPS locator on. But Android and Google are connected so if you have an Android phone, maybe not. It is a good idea to leave the GPS locator on for those who drive on remote roads and get in an accident, for instance. More people than we realize are being snatched, so it's a possibility albeit an unlikely one.

I already know my name shows up in Google and other search engines because of my music. But I'm going to try doing what you did to see if it will tell me where I went today.

I spent many years promoting my blogs, websites, eBooks and my eBay store online. That is what you have to do if you are trying to make money online. So you want the search engines to find you. Now none of it matters.

Both names, my real name and my user name give pages of results. But that is because I do a lot of stuff. My FB does not show up though. I have that set not to show up in a search.

I’m not on Facebook , twitter or any social media sites and oddly enough there are enough people with my name to confuse anyone. Yayyy. I never use my real name on sites. I appreciate my privacy.

Reminds me of an old friend from high school- her name was Mary Smith. She got aggravation from people insisting it was not her real name! :ROFLMAO:

I’ve made stuff to sell through Etsy and not used my real name. I’ve hid behind I store name. That works.

One of the things which concerns me is that when you consent to cookies, your router is accessed as well as your personal device. This means that other members of your household can also be targetted, even though they have not given their consent.
