Google staff arrested after staging 8 hour occupation of office in anti-Israel protest

Yes, as long as your protest doesn't violate other people's rights...to work, for example.
And they know they have the safety net of being American and these organizations that will bail them out.

And when I say hive mind, I mean 'agree with us or else' insert any kind of put down name calling no one wants to be on the receiving end of. (this isn't directed at you Murrmurr)

The Freedom of speech/expression provision of the Constitution rarely applies to a private entity, so the protestors have no protection on that respect.
Actually, I heard once that the real 'freedom of speech' protection wasn't really meant to apply between citizens so much as it protects you guys from the government being able to shut down your speech that government doesn't like. It's to protect your citizenry from a dictatorial governments over reach as it tries to protect itself from being called out for failures.

I guess they said the same thing 60 years ago.

Which protest is that? I don't recognize that building.

Remember the Civil Rights march on Washington? Hundreds of thousands of people and not one office or business occupied. One of the most peaceful protests in US history.

And remember when those dozens of January 6th guys entered a federal building and they were called insurrectionists?

How and where you go about assembling to protest matters.

According to the source it was at UCLA. There was an article a few years ago in the LA Times about some of those who were part of the protest.

You do have the right to call your neighbor a butt-head.

You do not have the right to publicly slander or defame your neighbor, or call him/her derogatory names that negatively characterize his/her religion, sex or sexual preference, race, &c, neither audibly nor in print. The neighbor can sue you and/or press charges against you for that.

Sure you can say what you want to a neighbour (or anyone else) . He has no protection against being offended, as in 'boo hoo, you hurt my feelings' which is far more than an issue of slander or defamation. But I always thought the more interesting fact was that I heard that when your Constitution was written, that freedom of speech section was primarily to protect 'speakers' from the ire of government.

Yes, it was. All of the Articles of the Constitution were written with the intent of protecting US citizens from federal and state governments and government agencies.

That's why it's weird to us that some branches of gov't and some gov't agencies have immunity against civil lawsuits. We can hold their feet to the fire, though, and they can be investigated and charged for criminal activity.
