Got a call from the "IRS" today

Or should I say a scam call from the "IRS tax crimes division". "Investigator" Newman (with his very heavy accent) told me that they were in the process of putting out a warrant for my arrest because of unpaid taxes. However, I could make things right by sending them a prepaid credit card with $3,500 on it.

Being a bit cheeky I decided to play it out for about 5 minutes. The "investigator" began getting very colorful with his language and advised me that I should consider contacting my lawyer, and he (the investigator) wouldn't be responsible for the dire consequences I would suffer if I didn't clear this up immediately.

I'll never claim to be the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but it certainly doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize this was a scam within the first 5 seconds of the call. After about 5 minutes of leading this slimeball on, I told him what I thought of him, his scam call, and his beastiality fetish. He then realized he had been played, ranted about how much trouble I was in, and hung up the phone.

It's rather sad-I'm guessing that there are people that get suckered in by these dirtballs. I'll never understand why people feel the need to pull this type of scam. But I did feel just a little better after hearing the exasperation in his voice, and knowing I was able to exact just a tiny amount of revenge.

This scam is posted on the Internet scam alert. The IRS never calls it always mail. The real laugh is if you have caller ID they even used US Government.
The beastality thing was clever, I'll try it next time.

I bet they scare the Seniors out of money.
We got a call also and notified the Attorney Generals office.

If you want to see how a blogger handles scam calls read his blog here , he had the Nigerians running all over Europe taking photos of themselves in various poses, while he sat in his home directing them. Some are quite funny, His blog was suggested reading for my job at my last employer.

I never got that one, although I have heard of it. I always get the one where the guy pretends he is from Microsoft and he has detected that a virus is being spread by MY computer and that he needs me to give him my password and computer info so he can check it out. I just ask him for his call back number at MICROSOFT... so I can reach him after I verify his validity.. CLICK...

My student had someone call him on the phone and inform him that he had been "detected" downloading copyrighted material and that he should go to K-Mart, purchase a gift card for $100 and email the card's number to some bogus email address. I suppose then all of his sins would be forgiven.

Luckily my student has a bit more on the ball than this guy and read him the riot act.

I guess I am sick. I have been kinda wishing I would get one of those scam "IRS" calls. I thought it out. I was gonna play along with him and tell them that "Yeah, I was afraid they were gonna catch up with me sooner or later, and that I had been worried about getting caught" Then I was gonna tell him I had the money, In cash, and that all they needed to do was come by my house. Then I would finish up by telling him that I would have my AR-15 ready with a 40 round magazine of hollow points and I have been looking for a good excuse to try those, specially hand loaded hollow points out on some real human flesh. Then I would mention that I had lots of land, and my own bulldozer to dispose of the body.

I regularly get the ones from Microsoft - Um duh! Haven't they done that one to death yet? The latest ones are from a "bank", they've detected some unusual activity on my account!!!

Problem is that they identify a bank which I don't bank with!

I played with the bloke for a little while, said all the right things about how shocked I was, how could I get it fixed? When he told me that I had to give him my bank account number and pin number, that's when I called him out. He was phoning me about my account, how come he didn't know the number of my account?

He hung up on me.

Sometimes I look up these other clowns on the 800notes website, punch in their number and read all the other complaints about them, and add my own story. Some joker tried to tell me he was from the IRS, and I owed taxes from 2012. He said if I didn't pay him an amount in the thousands, a sheriff would come and repossess my car and home. I let him go on and on to see how far he would go, but there came a point where I just yelled at him that he was the one who needed to watch out because he would be arrested.
