Just want to share that I finally got a replacement for my personal shopper/helper. (I need help with heavy shopping and some errands that I can’t always do myself….sometimes but not always). I’ve had someone I’d been using for about a year and things were really good but a couple months ago she started to flake out on me. (Working thru an agency). They sent replacement and she didn’t show up and didn’t call. Then the next replacement got “lost” and didn't bother to call (she had my phone number and so did the agency.) :wtf:So I was left standing on my front sidewalk waiting for her to show up. I was ready to spit nails. Then my regular young lady came back from vacation but made several mistakes. GRRR. I was not happy!!!

So I decided time for a change and got another agency. This service is not cheap …but we have a senior program that pays most of it, and I pay a percentage. I don’t need stress of people not showing up, not calling, and doing a half-a$$ job. On Monday I got a confirmation call from new person. This morning he called 20 minutes prior to arrival to tell me he would be here in 10 minutes. (I like that…) Today was my first time with new person – (I went with him to kind of show him the ropes….. (see my grocery shopping thread) I’m VERY organized and specific.) He is FABULOUS and we clicked right away. He has been with the agency for 4 yrs and his personality is wonderful – very funny but super efficient. We were actually giggling in the store aisles! When we got back all I did was unlock my door – he does all the unloading. Agency said he is one of their “jewels”. I’ve already booked him 2 weeks from now. Doing the happy dance!

That's great, AC!

Luckily for me, my grandson unloads the groceries and brings them in for me if I shop when he is not at work. Otherwise, since my car is parked so close to the door, I can get them in ok if a little slow.

Not to mention the sack of coal...:laugh:...

Fab .... it sounds like you've found someone whose really gonna step up to the plate for you AC, and that you seem to have bonded with very quickly..time will tell but it certainly sounds like you've got the best of the bunch now!! Long may it continue..

:lofl:

btw, all you SF people who submitted applications to be AC's personal shopper, I'm sorry but the position is filled. Your resumes will be kept on file......blah blah blah.

Still doing a great job!

Today I gave him my list and I had several “challenges” which I thought might be a bit hard to find. But, no problem!

btw, he has an autoreply on his phone if you send him a text while he's in the car: "I'm driving. I will get back to you shortly." I like that.

That's the line of work I was involved in for 25 years ,I can fully undjjerstand your frustrations A/C I always said if you can't get there it has to be a very good reason and everyone is only a phone call away no reason for excuses it's not as if you have to find a phone box to make a call most have mobiles now days..
I hired someone once to clean for me while I had my arm/ hand in plaster for two months due to having my wrist fused And maybe it's just me but my way of cleaning was to vacumn floors including the small kitchen dining, bathroom and laundry them wash the floors ...but she washed the toilet ,bathroom then the kitchen :yuk: I never wash the kitchen floor after washing the toilet floor ..she didn't even sweep or vacumn first

Sounds like a gem Applecruncher, I would want someone reliable and efficient too. Happy you found a keeper, hope he stays available for you.
