Got my car back...and BTW, lost internet for a day.

So, I got my car back this afternoon. Finally. I asked about all the issues. I guess my tires are the "drive-flat" tires. The ones that let you drive a small distance on the flat without totally tearing it up. That being said, they still need to sell you a new tire. Also, I found out I could have driven all the way to the tire shop on the flat, and saved myself the tow. I guess you can drive (slowly and carefully) up to 20 miles on the flat. Who knew? I knew the tire existed, but 1 I did not know that is what the car had, and 2 I did not know I could drive so far on it.

Second issue, yesterday afternoon I lost my internet connection. I called support, and she tried several times to refresh the modem to no avail. It was not responding. Here is where my adventure happened. So yesterday on the phone she asked if I would be home between 5 and 6 PM for a repair guy to come out. I said yes. She reminded me I would get a call when they were on their way. 6:30 PM and no show, no call. So I called them. Turns out the repair ticket was created, but never scheduled with an available tech.

An hour and several calls later they said someone would come this afternoon. He came and it was a 5 minute fix. Turns out my modem was never "registered" whatever that means. He said it should have happened automatically when I was set up. Oh well.
So, I am back online, and back driving. What more could a girl ask for.

Oh.....off topic....first day of Summer is this Friday. Cook out at my house.

Glad you got the modem taken care of Marie.

You might have towing coverage on your car insurance. Call them. if you do, you can send in the tow receipt for reimbursement up to the policy limit.

Take two of the saga. About 10 minutes after my OP, my internet went down again. So, I called back (it is Spectrum, BTW) and they scheduled a recall appointment for tomorrow. In the mean time, the scheduler sent me back to Customer Service rep to try and do some troubleshooting. He asked what the guy did when he came out earlier. I said he registered the modem. Guy asked.."Is that ALL?" not a good sign. Turns out, the service tech was supposed to tell me to go to Spectrum online and complete the registration process, for it all to take. Operator "unblocked" me, I went and did that and now I am back again.

Operator did tell me to hold off canceling the service call until morning, to make sure I stay back.

It sounds like you have things under control Marie, have a nice cook out Friday, great way to celebrate the start of summer! :sunglass:
