Got my Synvisc shot

I've been having problems with the right knee that has a partial replacement in it. So this past Tuesday A reconstruction surgeon helper put in the shot of Synvisc-one A one-time shot. She was great as she numbed the area real good & first she had to draw out 124 ml of fluid on my knee. She & the nurse was pushing & working to get all the fluid out of the knee.

I was laying on a table with a pillow under my knee. There was no pain just a little pressure. If you would like to see how it's done & if you are contemplating on getting this done here is a link all about it.

To see the procedure go down to "
How is Synvisc-One given?
Synvisc-One is a single-dose treatment that is injected directly into your knee by a doctor. To watch a video of a real patient’s injection, click here."

I had the Synvisc in my right knee about 3 months ago, helped enormously.
I took a 12 hour road trip at the beginning of this month and the knee stiffened up on me considerably, not sure what the timeframe is for another shot, must call the doctors office and ask.
I need a new knee, lots of arthritis and some other issues in there, trying to postpone as long as possible.
Anyhoo, good luck, hope it gives you some relief😊

The time frame for another shot is 6 months so my Dr told me when leaving. My knee is very stiff & sore today but I know why. It's raining & very cold. That knee can predict the weather better than weathermen/women.

Excellent news, I'm pleased you got it, I know the pain was getting you down ( another right knee sufferer here but not anywhere near as bad as you) .. so hopefully that shot will relieve the pain for a good many months if not more, and enable you to do things you've not been able to do fora while due to the pain...

Perhaps it might also take a few days, or so, for the knee to not hurt from the shot procedures itself,
before you can fully assess how much relief it might give you.

I hope it helps you a lot!
