Anyway, to your point, we do not have state income tax in Texas

Before I moved from Texas (a no income tax state) to Colorado (with an income tax), I did a comparison between the two.

In Texas, the property tax is the killer. In Colorado, property taxes plus income tax are much lower -- several thousands lower. At least for now. Some things, like gasoline, are about 30% higher here.

I do miss Texas. Now and then I consider moving back but I think of what that would entail and decide against it.
